Pennsylvania Supreme Court Rules Misdated Ballots Cannot Be Counted

The Pennsylvania U.S. Senate race between Dave McCormick and Bob Casey truly came down to the wire. Dave McCormick pulled out an exceedingly close win, flipping the U.S. Senate seat in favor of the Republicans with a margin of just 20,000 thousand votes or so. At least, that’s what everyone thought as the dust settled.

The Democrats have been working overtime to literally find the votes to get their Democrat candidate, Bob Casey, over the finish line and win against Dave McCormick. They’ve refused to concede the race, and they are insisting on counting ballots that are misdated. That’s not a joke either, they have been literally trying to count ballots that are misdated and therefore invalid.

Bucks County Democrats were openly admitting that they would be counting the improperly dated ballots, saying that the previous “precedent by a court doesn’t matter anymore in this country.” The Democrat Commissioner Diane Marseglia went so far as to say “people violate laws anytime they want.”

Well now it’s the end of the road for the Democrats trying to overturn the results of this U.S. Senate race. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled on Monday that no election official may count improperly dated mail-in ballots, siding with the Republican Party and their lawsuits against the Pennsylvania state Democrats.

Pennsylvania state law specifically states that a handwritten date must be clearly and properly placed on the return envelope of the mail-in ballot, and failure to do this makes the ballot invalid. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court is merely reinforcing this law and throwing out the Democrats’ legal argument that if the ballot “mostly seemed fine” then it was OK to count the ballot.

The Republican National Committee’s chair, Michael Whatley, praised the Pennsylvania Supreme Court for the common sense ruling, noting how this is finally the end of the road for the Democrats. “No more excuses,” he said in response to the news. “Election officials in Bucks, Montgomery, Philadelphia, and other counties have absolutely no choice.”

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justices, which are predominantly Democrats, put the Democrat election officials on blast for trying to skirt the rule of law for the sake of installing a Democrat in the U.S. Senate. “It is critical to the rule of law that individual counties and municipalities and their elected and appointed officials, like any other parties, obey orders of this Court,” Justice David Wecht wrote in his opinion.

“I write separately to disabuse local elections officials of the notion that they have the authority to ignore Election Code provisions that they believe are unconstitutional. Only the courts under our charter may declare a statute, or provision thereof, unconstitutional,” Justice Kevin Brobson wrote in a concurring majority opinion.

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shaprio released a letter in response to all the news about the mail-in ballots, saying that the law just wasn’t “clear” and that Democrats weren’t trying to illegally overturn the results of an election.

Democrat Josh Shapiro said that it was a “lack of legal clarity surrounding undated mail-in ballots that caused significant confusion and put counties in a challenging legal position.” The Pennsylvania State Supreme Court Justices don’t seem to agree with him at all.

Legal experts all over the nation said it was quite clear that the state law would not allow improperly dated mail-in ballots to be counted, period. There’s no ifs or ands about it. Josh Shapiro is clearly just trying to play damage control for the Pennsylvania Democrats now that they’ve been caught with their hands in the cookie jar.

What do you think about this news? Were Democrats trying to get away with overturning an election? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.

They (the democrats) will do it; no matter what the law says, they will do as they please and there is no repercussions, no one is going to jail, no one is going to lose their job, they will see how far they can push this and if /when they lose they will say “well,,, we try it and will do it again and to hell with the laws and the courts” and they are right……

Back in 2013, Bill Clinton in a speech that he was giving in Brussels (WEF) said that “there are two sets of laws…one for us, and one for them”! Meaning that the democrats and the elite are free from having to follow the rules and laws. Welcome to the real world and a big Thank you to the Pennsylvania supreme court for ruling in favor of the law.
