The American people are sick and tired of the establishment political class that currently resides in Washington, D.C. These politicians are hardly relatable to the average U.S. citizen and their actions certainly prove that.
This is partly why Donald Trump was able to win reelection this year. Vice President Kamala Harris was seen as an establishment candidate who had endorsements from elite Hollywood celebrities and other high-profile figures in the establishment class.
Not only that, she and the Democrat Party struggled to relate to voters who were complaining about the poor economy. Most of the time the Left tried to use gaslighting tactics to claim that the economy really wasn’t all that bad when the data was staring them right in the face and telling them that it actually was.
But it seems like the establishment figures in the Democrat Party haven’t learned their lesson after suffering a brutal election defeat a month ago. A recently deleted post on X has exposed them for once again mocking and gaslighting Americans for their valid complaints about the current state of the economy.
Congressional Democrats’ Post On X Is Met With Heavy Criticism
The official X account for the House Ways and Means Committee Democrats sparked controversy Tuesday after posting — and quickly deleting — a message ridiculing Americans for their concerns about inflation and the economy. The now-deleted post shared a report highlighting record Black Friday spending, accompanied by the quip: “And here we were thinking y’all couldn’t afford eggs!”

The backlash was swift. Social media users condemned the post, accusing Democrats of dismissing voters’ economic struggles — particularly in the wake of a significant electoral defeat that many attributed to dissatisfaction with President Joe Biden’s handling of the economy.
Egg prices, a frequent symbol in debates about inflation, have risen sharply during Biden’s tenure, jumping 52.6% in three years, according to Fox Business data from March. Critics argued the comment reflected a lack of empathy for the financial strain faced by Americans.
“As I said, it’s built into their DNA to blame voters for rejecting them, as opposed to self-reflection of their message and policies. They won’t change because they can’t change,” said political commentator Stephen L. Miller. House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-MN) added, “They never learn.”
Meanwhile, House Republican Claudia Tenney of New York, a member of the Ways and Means Committee, responded with a satirical poem referencing Humpty Dumpty, further mocking her Democratic colleagues.
Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall,
Egg prices soared—he couldn't afford it all!Ways and Means Dems tweeted with smiles so wide,
While the cost of eggs kept rising high!Humpty Dumpty cracked in despair,
"These prices, these prices, they're too much to bear!"Democrats laugh,… https://t.co/Psbl8pcZwT

The controversy comes as economic concerns dominate the political landscape. According to AP VoteCast, a survey of over 110,000 voters, around 40% of voters in the 2024 election identified the economy as the nation’s most pressing issue.
Economic frustrations were pivotal in President-elect Donald Trump’s victory, as he campaigned heavily on addressing inflation and economic instability under Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. The AP VoteCast survey found that voters prioritizing inflation favored Trump over Harris nearly two-to-one, with about 60% of those focused on the economy and jobs also backing Trump.
The Democrats’ deleted post serves as a reminder of the political perils of appearing dismissive of voters’ concerns — especially when economic anxiety is front and center in the national discourse. It’s also a reminder that more and more Americans are quickly rejecting the establishment political class that seeks to belittle them.
What were your initial thoughts on the Congressional Democrats’ social media post? Do the majority of politicians need to do a better job to relate to voters? Let us know what you think the comments below!
They should not have the opportunity to do better. They should be kicked to the curb immediately like they try to do to us.
Before the Plandemic, I was paying 40 cents/dozen for Jumbo eggs at Walmart (which, honestly, seemed too low for farmers’ profits)… now they are $5/dozen and still rising… of course, one of the worst examples… but, what the hell, we get Trump back!
Right, egg prices where I live are up 300%. Whoever calculates these figures are proof the democommunist school programs do not work.
Wondering if the Black Friday Sales generated the spike? Perhaps the poor electorate decided to squeeze their pennies a bit? Democrat leaders would not think of anything that simple.
What the leftist establishment Democrat party failed to realize is that Americans have awakened from their “I’m from the government, I’m here to help you” dream sleep, and voted in a way to correct the course of our country. Elected democrats (and moderate republicans) and their leftist leaning appointed government personnel still seem to think that Americans are stupid, and their message is infallible. It took 100 years (or more) to make the change, and don’t think for a minute that they’ll just roll-over…this is just their opening salvo!
Yes, one big thing that Harris said the American people are stupid and we’re not these people think we don’t have a college education you can’t think and if she thinks she’s gonna run for president again I don’t see anybody giving her a vote
P*ss on them. They’re the elites that don’t have to worry about the price of ANYTHING other than the next mansion they’re going to buy. Amazing how they go into government with upper median income and all of the sudden they’re million and billionaires. They’re just WAY OUT OF TOUCH and really don’t care. I wouldn’t p*iss on them if their heads were on fire.
