It wasn’t that long ago when it was perfectly acceptable to be proud of being an American citizen. Especially in the wake of 9/11, most Americans were proud of their nationality and felt united, even if they had political disagreements. That doesn’t seem to be the case anymore, unfortunately.
Americans are now taught by people, specifically those on the far-Left, that being an American isn’t something to boast about. In some schools, children are taught that America was founded on purely racist principles. Even museums reflect this sentiment which in turn makes an average U.S. citizen ashamed of their country.
Sure, the United States is not a perfect nation, but no nation is. In fact, there are many things that U.S. citizens should be proud of in regards to their country. And being proud of your country is exactly what President Donald Trump is trying to get Americans to do again. But he’s found multiple examples of government agencies working to shame the United States. However, that will soon come to an end thanks to a new order that he directed to the Smithsonian Institution and the Interior Department.
Trump Targets Smithsonian and National Parks With Bold Executive Order
In a striking executive order issued on Thursday, President Donald Trump set his sights on the Smithsonian Institution, calling for the removal of what he deems “improper, divisive or anti-American ideology” from the sprawling network of museums and research facilities that stands as a cornerstone of U.S. history and culture. The Republican leader tapped Vice President JD Vance to spearhead the effort, signaling a fresh push to redefine how America’s story is told.
The directive, dubbed “Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History,” also tasks the Interior Department with reversing changes made in recent years to federal parks, monuments, and memorials. Trump’s order claims these alterations “perpetuate a false revision of history,” though it remains light on specifics about what exactly he considers anti-American. The move hints at an overall aim to strip away narratives that conservatives argue paint the nation’s past through the lens of systemic racism.
One target singled out in the order is the National Museum of African American History and Culture, which Trump accuses of promoting a view that traits like “hard work,” “individualism,” and “the nuclear family” are hallmarks of “White culture.” The order also takes aim at the yet-to-open American Women’s History Museum, alleging it plans to spotlight male athletes competing in women’s sports.
The Smithsonian, a cultural titan with 21 museums—most stretching along Washington, D.C.’s National Mall from the Capitol to the Washington Monument—includes iconic institutions like the National Air and Space Museum and the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden. Billing itself as the world’s largest museum, education, and research complex, it also houses 14 research centers and the National Zoo.
This isn’t Trump’s first foray into reshaping America’s cultural landscape. Earlier this year, he named himself chairman of the Kennedy Center, a move that hinted at his intent to imprint his vision on the nation’s artistic and historical identity. The new order aligns with his administration’s ongoing campaign to dismantle diversity and inclusion initiatives across government, academia, and corporate spheres.
Vice President Vance, who sits on the Smithsonian’s Board of Regents, will lead the charge. The order frames the effort as a response to what it calls the Biden administration’s agenda, accusing Democrats of pushing “a divisive ideology that reconstrued America’s promotion of liberty as fundamentally flawed, inflecting revered institutions like the Smithsonian and national parks with false narratives.”
Trump has long championed preserving traditional symbols of American history. Earlier in 2025, he restored the names of Fort Benning and Fort Bragg to two U.S. Army bases, sidestepping a federal law banning honors for Confederate generals. The administration insists the names commemorate other soldiers, not the Civil War figures.

Details remain murky, and the White House has yet to flesh out the order’s implications. But for now, Trump’s latest decree proves that he is seriously committed to bringing back patriotism in this nation. He and his administration believe that celebrating your country is something everyone should agree upon no matter what side of the political aisle you’re on.

Good to hear.
It’s about time That common sense has come from a president To Change back The damage the demo rats did Great job Very
All a country’s history needs to be open. Studying a country’s politics and wars help the young not make the same mistakes and helps the citizen notice a disturbance or foreign element trying to invade and change a country’s culture. The disturbance can be within and outside the country’s culture and citizens need to figure out is the disturbance looking to conquer and destroy one’s country or not by knowing and understanding the history and culture of the country. We should know the thinking of both sides of our wars so we learn not to end up in another war over the same not yet solved problems. What our people don’t learn gives an opening for enemies to move in and conquer and destroy us. Look how our within enemies used our Civil War to fester ignorance and make our citizens to not trust each other instead trust the enemies festering the hate that caused the Civil War and dividing us so any enemy can take over. Thank goodness the teaching of hating color of skin in our schools and media made us wake up and see how enemies were dividing us to conquer us because enough of us knew the history of both sides in our Civil War and said, wait we fought that war and have worked on the hate that caused the war enough for us to not fall for that trick today.
I have to hand to Rosie O’Donnell, she no long loves our country so she moved to Ireland. I think more people with that belief should leaving America. Personally, I don’t see how they could have remained here under Biden, but maybe they preferred socialism instead of freedom.
