Democrat Hysteria Reaches New Low: Rep. Johnson Labels ICE “Terrorists”
Texas Democrat Rep. Julie Johnson unleashed a shocking outburst during a House Homeland Security Committee hearing, accusing hardworking Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents of carrying out “rogue terroristic attacks” on American citizens.
In yet another display of the left’s reflexive defense of open borders over law and order, Johnson painted federal officers enforcing immigration laws as villains while real threats loom at the border and beyond.
Equating Law Enforcement with Terrorists While Blocking Funding
Johnson didn’t mince words in her tirade: “Agencies should never be held hostage to justify the rogue terroristic attacks that these agents are doing upon the citizens … of this country.”
She added, “But what is happening should never be allowed to happen in this country. And we’re going to hold the line until we can make some serious corrections to what ICE is doing.” She even apologized to DHS officials for what she called Republican “hostage-taking” over funding disputes.
This inflammatory rhetoric came amid a partial DHS shutdown now stretching into its 39th day—the second-longest in history—thanks largely to Senate Democrats wielding the filibuster to demand sweeping changes to ICE, including restrictions on agents wearing masks and tighter warrant requirements.
Democrats have repeatedly shown they’d rather grandstand and obstruct than give law enforcement the tools and resources needed to secure the border and remove criminal illegal immigrants.
Veterans and Trump Push Back Against the Smear
Rep. Gabe Evans (R-Colo.), a combat veteran who served 12 years in the Army during the Global War on Terror and later in law enforcement, delivered a blistering rebuke:
“Wow. I can’t believe my ears. I spent 12 years in the US Army, deployed overseas as part of the global war on terror… I literally just heard my colleague across the aisle saying ICE is committing terrorist attacks… That’s incredibly disappointing to me.”
President Trump praised the ICE “Patriots” for stepping up during the TSA staffing crunch, even helping with bags and cleaning at airports: “I am so proud of our ICE Patriots! They were unfairly maligned by the Lunatic Democrats for years…”
Johnson’s baseless smear—offered without specific evidence of any “terroristic attacks” on citizens—fits a broader Democratic pattern of demonizing the very agencies tasked with protecting Americans from illegal immigration, crime, and chaos.
While Democrats play politics and block funding, ICE agents continue doing the dangerous job that weak border policies under previous administrations made necessary in the first place.
Once again, the left reveals its priorities: open borders and anti-enforcement activism over public safety and the rule of law.
