Republican congressman lays into the Trump admin for this jaw-dropping reason

In a stunning admission that exposes the depths of Washington’s elite protection racket, Rep. James Comer tore into the Justice Department’s handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files during a Monday appearance on CNN’s The Lead.

The Kentucky Republican didn’t mince words. He declared outright that the Department of Justice had botched the entire operation from the start. What should have been a straightforward release of documents tied to one of the most depraved s*x trafficking rings in modern history has instead become another chapter in the swamp’s endless game of hide-and-seek.

Host Jake Tapper pressed Comer on the glaring failures. Tapper stated, “Technically the Justice Department has not been in compliance with the law. I mean, they just they haven’t released all the files as mandated. They didn’t properly redact some of the release files. Not I’m not even talking about the victims slash victimizers that you discussed. I’m talking about, hiding the names of, men, that, you know, were in Jeffrey Epstein’s, inner circle. Do you have confidence in the Justice Department as it pertains to the Epstein case?”

Comer’s reply cut straight through the spin. He answered, “Well, I think the Justice Department has botched this. I don’t think anyone in America Republican, or, you know, avid Trump supporter, would defend the way that this has been rolled out. Having said that, it’s very complicated because of all the lawsuits.”

“And here’s another thing that adds to the difficulty in this whole investigation is we’ve met with the victims numerous times, My staff attorney are in contact with their staff attorneys. I know many of the female members in both parties are in constant communication with many of the victims, and to this day, they have not given us one single name of a man who has victimized them.”

“Now, part of the reason is because many of them have received settlements. So what they’re asking us to do is to get as much information and make public as possible. And that’s what we’re trying to do.”

This is what real accountability looks like. While the DOJ fumbles basic legal requirements, Comer and his team have rolled up their sleeves to meet with victims again and again. They’re coordinating with attorneys on both sides of the aisle to drag every scrap of truth into the daylight.

The American people have every right to be furious. Epstein didn’t operate in a vacuum. His island and his little black book were filled with the powerful, the connected, and the untouchable.

Yet somehow the federal government can’t seem to cough up complete files or clean redactions.

Ordinary citizens know exactly what this smells like: a deliberate slow-walk to shield the rich and famous. The same crowd that lectures us about “democracy” suddenly goes quiet when their own names might appear in the documents.

Comer’s honesty stands in sharp contrast to the stonewalling we’ve seen for years. No Republican, no Trump supporter, and frankly no decent American should accept this level of incompetence or intentional obstruction.

Americans are tired of two-tiered justice. The little guy gets the book thrown at him while billionaires and politicians get their secrets buried under bureaucratic excuses.

This Epstein mess isn’t just about one dead criminal. It’s about whether the system still works for the people or only for the club that flies on private jets to private islands.

Comer and the lawmakers working with victims deserve credit for refusing to let this fade away. They’re doing the job the DOJ won’t.

The rest of Washington should take note. The public is watching, and the demand for total transparency isn’t going away.
