We thought Obama’s influence was over. Unfortunately that’s not the case.
Now Barack Obama broke back onto the scene for a terrifying reason.
Obama-Appointed Judge Blocks Trump’s Push to Restore Border Control
President Donald Trump’s administration is once again facing obstruction from the federal bench as it works to end the Biden-era abuses that flooded America with hundreds of thousands of parolees.
In a move that underscores the ongoing resistance to commonsense immigration enforcement, an Obama-appointed judge has temporarily halted efforts to revoke parole for migrants who entered via the controversial CBP One app.
The Ruling and Its Impact on American Sovereignty
U.S. District Judge Allison Burroughs, with a history of left-leaning decisions against Trump policies, ruled that the blanket revocation of parole was unlawful.
She vacated the terminations and ordered the restoration of parole status for members of the class-action lawsuit, which could keep hundreds of thousands of individuals—primarily from Venezuela, Cuba, and Haiti—in the country longer than intended.
The Biden administration’s CBP One app, rolled out in 2023 under Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, allowed noncitizens to schedule appointments at ports of entry and receive temporary parole while awaiting hearings.
Trump’s Department of Homeland Security moved in April 2025 to terminate these paroles, citing the program’s role in exacerbating the worst border crisis in U.S. history.
A DHS spokesperson pushed back firmly against the judicial intervention:
“We disagree with this blatant judicial activism undermining the president’s Article II authority to determine who remains in this country. The Biden administration abused the parole authority under the disastrous CBP One program to allow millions of illegal aliens into the U.S., which further fueled the worst border crisis in U.S. history. Under federal law, DHS had full authority to revoke parole.”
The administration has encouraged self-deportation with incentives, including $2,600 and a free flight via the CBP Home App, while warning that failure to leave could result in arrest and deportation without future return options.
Democrat Policies Continue to Undermine Secure Borders
This latest court action highlights how activist judges—often appointed by previous Democratic administrations—continue to tie the hands of elected leaders trying to fulfill the clear mandate from American voters to secure the border and enforce immigration laws.
The Biden years demonstrated the dangers of expansive parole programs, which critics argue prioritized open borders over national security and the rule of law.
President Trump remains committed to reversing these failed policies, delivering on promises to put America First by prioritizing legal immigration, protecting citizens, and ending the catch-and-release practices that strained communities and public resources.
While Democrat-aligned groups and judges push back, the administration’s focus stays on restoring order, encouraging voluntary departures, and ensuring that only those who follow the proper legal process can remain—proving once again that real leadership means confronting chaos rather than perpetuating it.
