This latest 2028 presidential poll will absolutely shock you

A new AtlasIntel survey delivers a stark wake-up call for the Democratic establishment. Far-left Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York sits atop the list of potential 2028 presidential contenders, capturing 26 percent support among respondents.

This marks a notable departure from surveys that previously positioned Kamala Harris as the clear frontrunner.

Pete Buttigieg followed closely with 22.4 percent, while California Governor Gavin Newsom trailed just behind at 21.2 percent.

Harris, fresh off her decisive defeat to President Donald Trump, landed in fourth place with a mere 12.9 percent. Every other name in the mix registered only single-digit backing.

Pollsters conducted the survey between May 4 and May 7 among 2,069 American adults. Results carry a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percent.

This surge for Ocasio-Cortez arrives as some are pushing her toward a different target: challenging Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer in New York.

Yet the congresswoman has kept her options open. In a recent conversation with David Axelrod, she laid out her true priorities.

“They assume that my ambition is a title or a seat. And my ambition is way bigger than that. My ambition is to change this country,” Ocasio-Cortez said.

“Presidents come and go, Senate, House seats, elected officials, come and go, but single payer healthcare is forever, a living wage is forever, worker’s rights are forever, women’s rights, all that.”

Her vision centers on sweeping structural changes that would remake core parts of American life.

Supporters see a fighter willing to challenge corporate power and demand more for everyday families.

Critics warn her agenda would accelerate economic pressures already squeezing working households.

Ocasio-Cortez’s rise taps into genuine frustration among younger and more activist Democrats.

Her emphasis on permanent policy victories over temporary titles resonates with those who feel the system has left working people behind for decades.

Yet her brand of politics also highlights the growing divide between rhetoric and results. Promises of single-payer systems and living wages sound appealing in theory, but they often clash with the daily struggles of families facing higher costs and stagnant opportunities.
