Inflation has been the hottest buzz word when it comes to the economy and how Americans have been feeling about the health of the American economy. The simple fact is that many everyday goods are much more expensive than they were in 2021 right as the Biden-Harris administration began.
Some grocery items are 50% more expensive, gas is hanging out at around 20-40% more expensive depending on where you are in the nation, and housing is through the roof with some people saying they are paying double in rent than they were just a few short years ago.
There’s no way around this pain that millions of Americans are feeling, but the Harris campaign wants everyone to know that this is not their fault. Not only that, but they are saying that they take “no responsibility” at all. They are saying that inflation is entirely the fault of someone else, just not them.
Fox News host Neil Cavuto, who isn’t exactly always in the good graces of conservatives who are fans of Fox News, actually put a Harris campaign official – Gene Sperling – on the spot with critical questions about the Biden-Harris economy, specifically inflation. He did not let the official off the hook easily.
Neil Cavuto asked Gene Sperling if it was “wise” to deflect blame as opposed to just admitting that exploding the federal spending levels simply isn’t good for the economy and will have the negative effect of increased inflation.
“Do you think it is wise to point fingers at others when a lot of it could’ve come, innocently or not, from this administration, of which she has been a key part, and a lot of the spending initiatives had a habit of bringing up prices, do you think that’s possible?” Cavuto posed for Sperling in their interview.
Sperling did not care to answer the question directly. He deflected by asking Cavuto if he has been paying attention to the DNC and listening to the speeches from Kamala Harris in recent weeks. He did not give Cavuto a clear answer. So Cavuto pushed the matter.
“Do you or the administration take any blame, do you take any blame, Gene? Gene, I love you dearly, but I think it’s a simple question. I have no agenda, the right and left both hate me,” Cavuto once again asked of the Harris campaign advisor. Again, Sperling was not playing ball. He kept deflecting.
Once more, Cavuto asked for a clear answer to his question about whether the Harris campaign takes any responsibility for the inflation crisis that has hurt millions of Americans for the past few years.
“Let’s settle that. Let me ask you this: Is it possible that this administration should take some blame for the double-digit run-up in food prices alone? Any blame at all? Do you accept any blame at all? Should she accept any blame for that?” Cavuto once again asked Mr. Sperling to clarify.
Then the cat was let out of the bag. “No,” Mr. Sperling responded, before laying the blame at the feet of the pandemic panic and “supply chain issues.”
Cavuto acknowledged that inflation has come down and that maybe the Biden-Harris administration deserves some credit for combatting the high levels of inflation, but inflation does remain higher than the federal government says is healthy for the American economy moving forward. Annualized inflation is near 3%, which is well above the averages of the Trump administration and even the Obama administration. Nearly twice as much, to be precise.
“I do not think it was a significant factor, and I think we are also hurt by some of the food prices by the invasion of Ukraine. Several things happened,” Sperling added, trying to throw the Ukraine-Russia war into the mix as a possible way to deflect blame for the inflation crisis.
The Kamala Harris campaign seems to be employing a similar strategy to that of the Biden team, specifically to avoid taking any responsibility at all. The game is to just find ways to deflect and lay the responsibility for major issues at the feet of anyone but yourself.
When asked about the inflation crisis, Joe Biden and his aides have just been parroting the claim that the American economy is the “best in the world” and the “envy of the world”, as if to imply that everyone else should be grateful.
What’s funny about that is the American economy has been the best in the world for decades now. The biggest and most powerful companies have been in the United States for decades, like Google, Apple, and Microsoft. That’s why comparing the United States to other nations is an unfair comparison.
Jimmy Carter could have claimed that the American economy was the envy of the world back in the late 1970s, but that doesn’t change the fact that he oversaw a gas and fuel crisis that saw Americans paying a premium for transportation and forced them to wait in gas lines all day just for the hope of putting a gallon of gas in their car.
What do you think about the inflation crisis? Is Joe Biden and Kamala Harris at least somewhat responsible? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
This is totally due to the horrible decisions by the Biden/ Harris administration! Of course they won’t take any responsibility! They never do o anything!
Yep, nobody is surprised they’re telling still more lies! Shut down production of most goods/services, then pump $Trillions of Stimulus $$$$$$$$$ into the economy and you have too many easy dollars chasing too few goods/services! And the sellers get used to high prices really quickly…
Harris . . . This lands SQUARELY at your FEET – This happened on YOUR WATCH, which is one of MANY reasons I will VOTE for the POTUS Trump /VP Vance in 2024. ENOUGH of your LIES and COMMUNISM.
