One of the major threats this nation is facing is the massive demographic shifts that comes from the millions of people being let over the border. Whether it is economic, public health, or infrastructure, we’re in for a rude awakening.

With all the power the executive branch has to stop the invasion without any need for prior Congressional approval, it’s a wonder why the border hasn’t been fixed. Republicans are alleging that they know what they’re doing and don’t intend to stop it.

Under the Biden-Harris administration, an estimated 11.6 million illegal aliens, including violent gang members, drug cartel operatives, and individuals on the terror watchlist, have entered the U.S., according to a report released by the House Committee on Homeland Security.

The report, titled “Crisis by Design: A Comprehensive Look at the Biden-Harris Administration’s Unprecedented Border Crisis,” attributes this surge to the administration’s border policies, particularly their handling of U.S. asylum laws. The committee states these policies have allowed millions of unlawful aliens to enter the country without thorough vetting, raising concerns about public safety.

Since fiscal year 2021 began, U.S. Border Patrol has arrested 52,755 illegal aliens with criminal records — approximately 30,000 more than were arrested between 2017-2021. As the Biden-Harris term continues, these numbers are expected to increase.

There has also been a rise in violent offenses committed by criminal aliens since 2021, with reports from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) showing significant increases in encounters related to drug trafficking and other crimes. For instance, between 2021 and 2024, CBP reported 7,846 encounters involving illegal drug possession and trafficking.

The report details crimes committed by illegal aliens, including r*pe, m*rder, and narcotics smuggling. One example is the story of Josephine Dunn, who lost her daughter to fentanyl poisoning in 2021.

Dunn testified before the committee, saying, “In my humble opinion, Mr. Mayorkas’ border policy is partially responsible for my daughter’s death,” referring to the current secretary of homeland security.

Fentanyl trafficking has become a growing issue, with roughly 200,000 Americans reported dead from fentanyl poisoning since 2021, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The committee report also notes that since 2021, there have been 1,339 convictions of illegal aliens for s*xual offenses and 178 for m*rder and mansl*ughter. Witnesses testified before the House Committee on Homeland Security, including a mother whose child was k*lled by an illegal alien and local leaders in border towns who are struggling with the impact of the crisis.

Among those testifying was Patty Morin, who shared her story of losing her daughter, Rachel Morin, who was r*ped and m*rdered by an illegal alien. Morin stated that the Biden administration never reached out to offer condolences.

The report further claims that expert advice given to the Biden transition team in 2020-2021 was ignored, and the administration instead focused on reversing Trump-era immigration policies. For instance, the Biden administration ended the “Remain in Mexico” program and adopted the “catch and release” policy, which allowed some inadmissible aliens to enter the U.S. without detention.

Former Border Patrol Chief Rodney Scott testified that the current situation at the border was “a crisis by design,” echoing concerns raised by other experts in the report. The committee also highlighted the strain on federal law enforcement, noting that over 4,000 Border Patrol agents have opted for early retirement during the Biden-Harris administration — double the rate seen in the previous two presidencies.

The report concludes that the policies enacted under the Biden-Harris administration have contributed to increased crime, drug-related deaths, and pressure on local communities. According to the committee, the administration’s approach to border security will have long-lasting consequences.
