In a move that many see as a direct attack on President-elect Donald Trump’s plans to secure the border, the Biden administration is spending its final weeks hauling massive amounts of unused border wall materials away from the southern border to be auctioned off. The effort appears to deliberately hinder Trump’s ability to resume construction of the border wall — a policy most Americans strongly support as part of securing the nation’s borders.
Exclusive videos obtained by The Daily Wire show flatbed trucks carrying unused wall sections away from a hotspot for illegal crossings near Tucson, Arizona. A U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agent estimates that up to half a mile of wall material is being removed daily. “They are taking it from three stations: Nogales, Tucson, and Three Points,” the agent said, speaking on condition of anonymity. “The goal is to move all of it off the border before Christmas.”

These actions are poised to slow Trump’s efforts to deliver on his key campaign promise of border security. The wall sections, originally brought to the border during Trump’s first term, have been left unused since President Joe Biden halted construction in 2021. Now, they are being auctioned off by GovPlanet, a government surplus marketplace, with starting bids as low as $5.
The trucking company DP Trucking LLC has been contracted to move the materials to Pinal Airpark in Marana, Arizona. Harold Lambeth, the company’s owner, confirmed to The Daily Wire that they are transporting the unused sections but declined to provide further details. Videos show piles of unused wall materials at the auction site, ready for sale.
Rep. Eli Crane (R-AZ), whose district includes the auction site, blasted the Biden administration for what he sees as a deliberate attempt to sabotage Trump’s plans. “The Biden Administration is well aware they shouldn’t have reversed the construction of the border wall. If it’s true they’re purposefully hamstringing an incoming president, it wouldn’t be shocking,” Crane said.
“Why would they want to see President Trump succeed with policies they aggressively sabotaged?”
Most Americans want the border secured, and many see the auctioning of these materials as an affront to their will. Crane emphasized that Trump received a clear mandate in November to secure the border and that the administration’s actions undermine that mandate. “The American people gave President Trump a mandate in November, which included the fulfillment of his plans to secure the border,” Crane said.
Trump has vowed to use executive orders to restart construction of the border wall and quickly secure funding — a fight that could be reignited by the Biden administration’s actions. “When Trump comes back, and he wants to start the border wall all over again, the whole entire funding fight is gonna happen again,” the border patrol agent said. “That’s their play. He’s gonna have to fight for this—again.”
The Biden administration has remained tight-lipped about its decisions, with the Customs and Border Protection Agency referring inquiries to other departments, none of which provided clear answers.
Crane called the fire sale of border wall materials “a direct affront to the will of the people,” adding, “Any last-ditch attempt to obstruct this mandate by the Biden Administration would be a direct affront to the will of the people.”
As Trump prepares to return to office, this maneuver by the outgoing administration serves as yet another flashpoint in the ongoing battle over America’s border security.
