Earlier this year in June, Donald Trump made headlines when he proclaimed that he would be endorsing the policy of No Taxes on Tips and would be fighting for the end of taxes on tips given to restaurant servers and other service industry workers.
Kamala Harris was quick to copy Donald Trump and his popular No Tax on Tips policy proposal, as she would adopt the policy just a few weeks after having officially launched her campaign for President. This was just one example of how Kamala Harris has been pulled back to the center because of the failures of her and Biden’s current administration and Donald Trump’s rise to popularity once more.
Well now Donald Trump is back to the drawing board trying to come up with new policies that will resonate with the average American. This time, he’s testing out the idea of ending all taxes on overtime pay.
Donald Trump shared this news at a rally in Tucson, saying, “Today, I’m also announcing that, as part of our additional tax cuts, we will end all taxes on overtime. You know what that means? Think of that.” He went on to describe that this should help make the lives of workers better and help companies as well.
“That gives people more of an incentive to work, it gives the companies a lot, it’s a lot easier to get the people,” Mr. Donald Trump added in his comments at the Tucson, Arizona campaign rally.
Former President Trump went on to say that overtime workers are extremely hard-working individuals who are often left behind when they are just trying to make ends meet. Once again, he pointed out how the Washington, D.C. class is leaving average Americans behind, particularly those just trying to make some extra cash with overtime hours.
“The people who work overtime are among the hardest working citizens in our country, and for too long, no one in Washington has been looking out for them,” Trump added at the rally.
“Those are the people, they really work. They’re police officers, nurses, factory workers, construction workers, truck drivers and machine operators.”

Brilliant Proposal From Trump Pressures Kamala Harris
This proposal of eliminating taxes on overtime pay is one that is sure to turn heads, especially with Washington, D.C. politicians who almost never want to give substantial tax relief to Americans who are struggling to get by.
No taxes on overtime pay is actually a brilliant idea, though. It encourages those who are interested in working a little more than the standard 40 hours a week or 80 hours every two weeks to get to the overtime pay because it will be more valuable pay than their normal hours that are ravaged with taxes.
On top of that, companies of all sizes who do offer overtime-based pay would benefit from an energized sector of the workforce trying to work more to get that higher value overtime pay. Small and medium-sized businesses wouldn’t even be looking at paying higher rates on their end and the worker still gets a better value out of their own labor.
Kamala Harris is probably going to take a look at this one and consider whether she wants to endorse this Trump campaign policy as well. It would be no surprise if she did, considering she’s tried to copy Donald Trump on economic issues and immigration issues.
At the very least, this announcement signals to Kamala Harris and company that Donald Trump means business. He’s pulling out all the stops to reach average Americans with ideas that they will find very enticing and also fair. That’s the key part to consider.
Americans just don’t think the Harris proposals of handing out $25,000 in “down payment assistance” to certain homebuyers is fair by any stretch of the imagination. Workers keeping more of their own sweat of the brow? That’s absolutely fair, and a reason Donald Trump continues to dominate on economic issues.
Do you think eliminating taxes on overtime pay is a good idea? As always, let us know what you think in the comments below.
I think that is a fantastic idea. For many years I have been plagued with working overtime only to realize that I had some, but not a lot extra to show for my efforts. “The more you make, the more they take” has been the norm for too long.
I’m retired now, but I never worked a 40 hour week. Although I made good money I was taxed on my gross earnings across the board. Sure wish I had this advantage during my working years. Once President Trump gets back in I think it’s a wonderful idea to put more money in the pockets of people willing to put in the extra effort. TRUMP 2024!
