During an interview with Bloomberg in Chicago, Illinois, Donald Trump declared that the Republican Party would be the party of “common sense” for decades to come, simply because there’s core policies that the GOP generally supports that are extremely popular with the vast majority of Americans.
Donald Trump’s interview with Bloomberg’s John Micklethwait in Chicago covered many topics, such as the economy and the state of the presidential race between Trump and Harris that is as hot as any presidential election in decades. On that front, Donald Trump noted that he’s polling quite well in key swing states that Republicans historically haven’t performed well in.
“They say Pennsylvania. I think we’re doing very well there. I think you look at Michigan, too, and I’m doing very well,” Trump noted in the interview. “We’re way up in Pennsylvania. We’re way up in Michigan. We’re doing very well in Arizona. In fact, somebody said they’re going to pull the plug in Arizona – they’re going to give it up because it looks like we’re quite a ways ahead,” he added.
He claimed this is because Trump and the new-look Republican Party is now the party of common sense while the Democrats continue to go so far to the Left that a majority of Americans are finding it tough to stomach team blue. “Forget about conservative, liberal. We’re, let’s say, conservative, but we’re really a party of ‘We need borders. We need fair elections. We don’t want men playing in women’s sports. We don’t want transgender operations without parental consent,’” Trump added in the interview.
“It is 99.9% common sense. It really is common sense. I say we’re really a party of common sense, and we want to have great people in our country,” Donald Trump declared in the Bloomberg sit-down.
At the core of these statements is what most Americans would agree with. We can be sensitive and compassionate but also seek what’s best for Americans first rather than constantly putting Americans last like so many of them feel the political class does. Policy has to put Americans first and common sense first.
Trump went on to say, “I have a good heart. I have a heart where I want people to be taken care of. But I don’t want to take in people where millions of people – 21 million people at least have come in the last three and a half years unvetted, unchecked. We don’t know anything about them.”

Polls Say Donald Trump Is Spot On
Ever since Donald Trump came on to the political scene by announcing his candidacy for president in 2015, the Republican Party has been forced to do away with its old Bush-era RINO ways of supporting forever wars and never lifting a finger for Americans in Washington, D.C. Objectively, the Republican Party has shifted to a more populist center and it’s been the biggest political realignment in decades.
Surveys and voting data proves this. In 2016, Donald Trump unlocked millions of previously uninterested voters and he also convinced plenty of 2008 and 2012 Obama voters to cast a ballot for him rather than Hillary. This has continued into 2024 now.
Traditionally reliably Democrat voting blocs are now realigning with Donald Trump and the new-look Republican Party after feeling seriously left behind by a Democrat Party that is making it clear there’s no room for anyone in their Party who doesn’t believe young men should compete in young women’s sports.
Kamala Harris might win this year. Though, the Democrats will still have the problem of an extremely unpopular vision for America moving forward. All because they are unwilling to let go of some extremely far-Left policies and ideas that vast swaths of Americans find absolutely despicable and insane.

I was an Independent for over 50 years, then I read their charter. They are an extension of the Democrat party. I am not happy with that and became a Republican for the first time in my life. What bothers me the most is KAMALA climbed up the ladder on her back. She is the epidemy of everything I have fought against in my career. Just because you cheat by opening up your legs does not make you qualified for the job.
