Donald Trump’s Top Republican Primary Opponent Defends Him Against Unfair Media Bias

Since the beginning of Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign, he’s always had enemies from within the Republican Party who believe he is not fit for office and would rather a more establishment figure be the nominee for President. The pearl-clutching since 2016 over Donald Trump’s presidential campaigns has been fairly annoying to watch for the conservative base, considering he’s dominated the open primaries every single election season.

The likes of Marco Rubio tried to derail Donald Trump back in 2016, and this time around the big opponent was Nikki Haley from South Carolina. Nikki Haley served as the Governor of South Carolina between 2011 and 2017, and then briefly served as an ambassador during the Trump administration in 2017 and 2018.

She angled her 2024 Presidential campaign as the “anti-Trump” movement from within the Republican Party. She even suggested that she may not support Donald Trump if he were to win the primary race, leaning into a 2016-era “Never Trump” movement. Well now that’s all out the window. In a surprising turn of events, even Nikki Haley is falling in line and defending Donald Trump from the unfair attacks from the establishment media.

In a CBS interview with host Margaret Brennan, Nikki Haley pushed back on the narrative that the media talking heads are trying to push that Donald Trump doesn’t care about the voters for the Republican Party, specifically because of his controversial opinions on IVF.

CBS host Margaret Brennan asked Haley about her concern with fiscal conservatism as it relates to the government ordering insurance companies to include coverage for IVF as a form of reproductive health coverage. Haley quickly shot back that there should probably be more concern over Kamala Harris’s proposals that threaten private health insurance as a whole.

“It’s not a policy I support any more than it’s a policy of Kamala Harris to remove private health insurance or Medicare for all. Look, at the end of the day,” Nikki Haley said in response.

Brennan interrupted Haley, telling her that Donald Trump is the head of the Republican Party, as if to say that whatever Donald Trump says goes and there can be no diversity of opinions from within the Republican Party. “But this is the head of the Republican Party. This is the Republican nominee,” Brennan said to interrupt Nikki Haley.

That’s when Nikki Haley said that media outlets like CBS need to be doing the same deep dives into policy proposals for Kamala Harris as well. The IVF matter is such a niche issue that the establishment is trying to use to create division between Donald Trump and his more conservative base.

“I know, but Margaret, you also have to talk about the head of the Democrat Party. Don’t just look at one and not look at the other. When you talk about Medicare for all, when you talk about removing private health insurance, you might as well be Canada. You might as well look at socialist health care,” Haley responded. “We never want to get to that point, cause you’re not going to get IVF or anything else, cancer drugs or anything else when it comes to that.”

Haley argued she’s more concerned about the issue of health care as a whole and preventing a continuation of the Barack Obama-era “Obamacare”, which is what the Kamala Harris campaign has discussed over the past several weeks. That presents an existential threat for private healthcare in America, potentially being a slippery slope that leads to government-dominated healthcare systems that have failed the masses all over the world.

“When you look at health care, we need to know, both of my children were products of fertility, we want that option to be available to everyone. But the way you do it is you don’t mandate coverage. Instead, you go and you make sure that coverage is accessible and you make sure that you’re doing everything you can to make it affordable,” Nikki Haley added.

Brennan then continued to push the envelope and asked Haley if she could tell those who identify as Republicans and conservatives to support Donald Trump because of this one issue that may not be conservative that Trump supports. To which Nikki reminded her that she doesn’t have to agree with anyone on every single matter.

“I don’t agree with Trump 100% of the time. I don’t have to like him or agree with him 100% of the time to know that life for Americans would be better under the policies where we have strong immigration, where we have law and order, where we have an economy where we can look at opportunities, where we’ve got national security that is strong,” Haley responded to Brennan.

Media Bias On Display In Brennan-Haley Interview

Nikki Haley was a sworn enemy of Donald Trump’s during the primary season, but even she is willing to point out the absolutely clear bias that the media is playing when it comes to Donald Trump’s campaign coverage versus Kamala Harris’s campaign coverage.

The reality is that the IVF issue is extremely niche and doesn’t cause a ton of division amongst Americans. The media, however, absolutely wants it to. They want to use it as a tool to divide Trump away from voters as much as possible.

She also made it abundantly clear that the media doesn’t want to talk about the controversial parts of Kamala Harris’s campaign at all, like the laughable plan to just give $25,000 away to certain homebuyers at the expense of taxpayers.

The reality is you don’t have to support everything about an individual to support them for office. Haley admitting that to show her support for Donald Trump over Kamala Harris in their race for the White House just goes to show you how far the establishment has gone in their war against normal, everyday Americans. Even a former sworn enemy of Donald Trump’s is exposing the establishment’s narrative control.

The mainstream media has a responsibility to be unbiased in their coverage. The reason Trump calls the msm the enemy of the people is because they don’t give the information need to make an informed decision
