Kamala Harris’s husband has a troubled past that has been largely ignored, maybe to a concerning degree considering he could be the first “First Gentleman,” as ironic as that sounds. We know he’s cheated on his first wife, as he admitted that to the public when a bombshell Daily Mail report about Emhoff dropped. The allegations didn’t stop there.
The Daily Mail reported that Emhoff may have abused at least one woman, a girlfriend, during a Cannes Film Festival from about ten years ago. The accusation lobbed his way said that he slapped his girlfriend so hard that she got spun around. The accusation has also been corroborated by several different sources as well, so it’s not as if this accusation has no legs to it.
Doug Emhoff recently appeared on MSNBC with Joe Scarborough, who has been a major cheerleader for Kamala Harris and the Democrats from within the mainstream media. Scarborough gave Emhoff a softball question to answer about the allegations, and really tried to “T” him up so he could knock these allegations out of the park and be done with them once-and-for-all. That’s not what happened.
“He’s spreading it about you, saying that tabloid stories about your personal life, saying it should be front and center,” Scarborough said to Emhoff about Donald Trump mentioning these allegations at campaign stops and rallies. “He’s saying it about your wife and making incredibly crude and lewd suggestions about her past life,” Scarborough added.
Then Scarborough asked, “I’m just wondering, how do you all stay centered? How do you stay disciplined and not really go off and not really push back hard at these things?”
Emhoff gave a really bad answer that is unlikely to sit well with anyone heading to the ballot box this November. “We don’t have time to be pissed off. We don’t have time to focus on it. It’s all a distraction. It’s designed to try to get us off our game,” the potential “First Gentleman” had to say in response.
As some have pointed out, Doug Emhoff has legal expertise. Outright denying the allegations could be used against him at a later date, if he is guilty of actually abusing a woman or at least found liable. There could be something he doesn’t want to share, giving us the non-answer that these allegations are just a “distraction.”
Telling word choice:
Second Gentleperson Doug Emhoff calls the allegations that he hit his ex-girlfriend in the face “a distraction.”
That’s not a denial. Doug is a lawyer. His decision to pivot when asked about DV was a deliberate decision.

A Double Standard Too Obvious To Ignore?
Donald Trump recently shared in an interview with the Daily Wire that he believes there’s a clear double standard at play here. He said that if these allegations of abuse of a partner were lobbed against him or his wife, they would be shamed by the mainstream media non-stop for weeks on end. It would be all the media talking heads could talk about.
Since it’s a Democrat candidate who the story potentially harms, the story has been getting little attention from the major media outlets at all. It’s especially bewildering considering Emhoff himself has not countered the allegations at this time. The best we’ve gotten in the way of a denial is a representative said the allegations were “untrue.” Not exactly a strong defense, is it?
The anonymous Daily Mail source claimed that “he hauled up and slapped her so hard she spun around.” She added that “She said she was in utter shock. She was so furious, she slapped him on one side, and then on the other cheek with the other hand.” This was all during a trip Emhoff took to France with his then-girlfriend.
We already know it to be true that Doug Emhoff cheated on his first wife with one of the teachers of his daughter’s. Doug Emhoff got the woman pregnant, and it’s been implied by the reports that the two wanted to abort the baby and so they “didn’t keep the child.”
Is it really that much of a stretch that Emhoff would abuse his then-girlfriend? Not really. We don’t know it to be true beyond a shadow of a doubt, so he gets to hold on to his presumed innocence, at least for now. He’s not exactly “First Gentleman” material, though. It would be a real shame if he was the first man to receive that title.
What do you think of Doug Emhoff? Is he worthy of the title of “First Gentleman”? Sound off in the comments below.
