FBI uncovers ‘burn bags’ for Trump-Russia documents

Patel’s Discovery Exposes Hidden FBI Documents

FBI Director Kash Patel has uncovered a trove of “burn bags” containing thousands of documents tied to the controversial Trump-Russia probe, known as “Crossfire Hurricane,” from the 2016 campaign, a source revealed to The New York Post.

Among the findings, located in a supposed secret room at the FBI’s Washington, D.C., headquarters, is a classified 29-page annex to the 2023 John Durham report that scrutinized the flawed origins of the investigation.

This appendix, never before released, details intelligence reviewed by Durham, shedding light on the FBI’s actions. President Trump, addressing the discovery, expressed strong support for transparency, stating, “I want everything to be shown,” provided it’s handled fairly and reasonably.

The annex is set to be declassified and handed to Senate Judiciary Chair Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) for public release, a move that promises to clarify the extent of the FBI’s missteps.

Evidence of Bias in Crossfire Hurricane Probe

The uncovered documents, as reported by Fox News Digital, include information suggesting foreign sources warned U.S. intelligence that the FBI was poised to push a false narrative of illegal collusion between Trump’s 2016 campaign and the Kremlin before launching “Crossfire Hurricane” in July 2016.

This revelation bolsters Trump’s long-standing claims of a politically motivated witch hunt.

The review of these documents involves key Trump-appointed officials, including Patel, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, Attorney General Pam Bondi, and acting National Security Agency Director William Hartman, signaling a committed effort to uncover the truth.

Patel, who previously served as chief investigator for then-House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes during the initial probe into Crossfire Hurricane’s conduct, hinted at the discovery on Joe Rogan’s podcast, describing a hidden room in the FBI’s Hoover Building filled with documents and hard drives concealed by former Director James Comey and others.

Trump’s Push for Transparency Counters Critics

The findings build on Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s 2019 report, which found no evidence of Trump conspiring with Russia, and Durham’s 2023 report, which deemed Crossfire Hurricane “seriously flawed” and baseless.

Recently, Director Gabbard released evidence pointing to a “treasonous conspiracy” by Obama-era officials to undermine Trump, a claim dismissed as “patently false” by former CIA Director John Brennan and ex-Director of National Intelligence James Clapper in a New York Times op-ed.

They argued Russia influenced voter preferences in 2016, accusing Trump’s team of distorting intelligence.

However, Trump’s supporters counter that Brennan and Clapper’s defense reeks of partisan deflection, ignoring evidence that the Obama administration downplayed Russia’s role until Comey’s FBI intervened.

With Patel’s discovery and Grassley’s oversight, the Trump administration is poised to deliver long-overdue transparency, challenging narratives pushed by detractors and reinforcing the need to address past abuses within the FBI.
