In a fiery exchange on Fox News’ America Reports, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin pulled no punches against New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
Mullin declared he had “zero respect” for the mayor, painting him as part of the radical left’s disastrous grip on once-great American cities.
This clash highlights the growing battle between federal law enforcement and defiant sanctuary strongholds that prioritize criminals over citizens.
John Roberts pressed Mullin on the reality facing New York. With state and city officials refusing to cooperate with ICE, plans might be underway to surge agents into the area.
The goal is straightforward: apprehend those in the country illegally who threaten public safety. Mamdani, however, stands firmly in the way, defending policies that have turned the city into a magnet for chaos.
Mamdani fired back with his typical rhetoric. He stated: “We have heard time and again threats of increases in immigration enforcement across our city. I want to be very clear about the fact that I believe that ICE raids are cruel. They are inhumane, they do nothing to serve the interests of public safety.”
Such claims ignore the daily toll of unchecked illegal immigration and weak leadership.
Mullin wasted no time setting the record straight. He backed border czar Tom Homan’s warnings that New York’s refusal to work with ICE endangers everyone. Sanctuary policies don’t protect communities—they invite trouble.
“He’ absolutely correct,” Mullin said of Homan.
“First of all, Mamdani is a socialist communist that I have zero respect for. He’s running a great city by allowing lawless activity to continue to run rampant on the streets.”
President Trump campaigned hard on restoring order across America, including in resistant blue enclaves.
Mullin made clear this administration follows through regardless of local politics.

This rank voting system should be illegal. If you are a non-democrat, you will not be allowed to win. It’s a system that only allows for one party wining. That alone is illegal, unconstitutional, a communist system of only party members can be running, no nonparty candidates. As in Maine and CA, when a republican candidate may win and the democrat party wants a democrat in the govt position, they will make sure the voting suddenly goes against the republican and the next person always a democrat suddenly gets more votes than the republican. Just why are both parties in a ranking system any ways. Republicans should be running against republicans and democrats against democrats in primaries, that way both party members get a chance to have the person they want running. Rank voting wipes out the chance for another party having a chance to have someone they want in. instead of having nothing to vote for. Then the winning rep and dem run against each other. This country has never had ranking voting, but communist systems have ranking where it’s all communist members running and you pick the commie you want, well, not really want. Ranking is a communist voting system and is unconstitutional in a free country.
