Mitch McConnell Suffers a Fall While in the Hallway of a Senate Building

In a shocking moment caught on tape, Senator Mitch McConnell took a hard fall right in the halls of power on Thursday. The Kentucky Republican, at 83 years old, was heading to the Capitol for crucial votes when disaster struck.

Eyewitnesses saw McConnell clutch at an aide’s arm just moments before he hit the ground. It was a stark reminder of how vulnerable even the most entrenched politicians can be.

Thankfully, the veteran senator got back up quickly, with help from his aide and a nearby guard. He even managed a wave to onlookers as he limped off.

WATCH:

This isn’t the first time McConnell has had a rough go of it. He’s faced a string of health woes that have folks wondering about his stamina.

Just this past February, McConnell announced he wouldn’t run for another term next year. That decision came amid growing concerns over his repeated stumbles and freezes in front of cameras.

The video of this latest incident? It was snagged by the leftist Sunrise Movement.

McConnell’s team was quick to downplay the whole thing. His spokesperson said to the New York Post: “He’s all good.”

They added: “[He] went on to vote and [is] ready to vote again … to see if Dems decide to fund our nation’s defense priorities or not.”

Still, these incidents keep piling up. Back in February, he had to use a wheelchair after several falls, forcing him to adapt his routine.

At the time, his spokesperson assured everyone: “Senator McConnell is fine.” They added that “the lingering effects of polio in his left leg will not disrupt his regular schedule of work.”

Then there was that nasty slip last December during a Capitol lunch. McConnell ended up with a sprained wrist and some facial cuts.

And who can forget the big one in early 2023? A serious fall landed him in the hospital with a concussion and a fractured rib. That’s no minor bump.

For everyday Americans watching from home, scenes like this highlight the disconnect in Washington. While families struggle with inflation, the elite cling to power despite clear physical limits.

There should be an age limit for running for office. 75 years would be a good maximum age for running for office.

Just like the president 2 term limit for the Senate and 3 for the House. If they limit out in the House they don’t get 2 more terms in the Senate.

Is this a real question? We limit the President to two four year terms, yet we allow these people to keep running for and getting elected to office. Most get in due to name recognition, stupidity and apathy. It is all based on money, not facts. We expect accountability from our President, shouldn’t we expect the same from our Congressmen/women? Term Limits should be instituted for ALL members of Government. We need to go back to electing Statesmen and stop electing career politicians who stay in office until they die, like Dianne Fienstein did. She refused to retire and give up all of that power and money leaving a power vacuum in her wake. THIS is why we need term limits for them all. No more “Once you are in, you are in for life.” crap.
