Safety is a big issue for Americans, whether you’re a Republican or a Democrat. Everyday Americans just want to know that they’ll be able to live their lives without fearing for their safety. Parents want to be able to drop their kids off at school without worrying about their well-being. Homeowners want to make sure their families and property are safe each night when they go to sleep.
And while for the most part, the United States has been able to assure it’s citizens that they’ll be safe in their own country, the world is quickly becoming more and more dangerous. Crime in the U.S. has risen in recent years, and suspected terrorists are finding ways to cross the nation’s borders, leaving many worried about a potential attack in the near future. But the political rise of Donald Trump has helped strengthen the idea that Americans can feel safe in their own country. President-elect Trump has made it clear throughout his political career that he will put America first and do everything in his power to help protect her.
This is a bi-partisan idea that both sides of the political aisle should agree upon. But not every politician in office believes it’s important to keep the United States one step ahead of its enemies in order to protect the country. Some think that prioritizing the interests of the nation’s adversaries are far more important than prioritizing the interests of U.S. citizens.
And what President Joe Biden just did proves that he is content with falling in line with that type of thinking. Unfortunately this has been a common theme for the Biden presidency. Americans sometimes feel as though they’re picked last when decisions regarding domestic and foreign policy are made.
Biden Waives Sanctions, Allowing Islamic Republic of Iran Access to Billions in Frozen Assets
In a controversial move following the Democrats’ recent electoral losses, President Joe Biden reportedly approved a waiver lifting sanctions to grant the Islamic Republic of Iran — widely regarded as the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism — access to frozen assets that are worth billions of dollars. There’s zero doubt that the Iranian regime will use this to their advantage of sponsoring more terrorism in the region.
The Washington Free Beacon revealed details of a non-public order obtained from the State Department, which was sent to Congress. The document argued that it was “in the national security interest of the United States” to allow Iran access to $10 billion in previously frozen funds.
The report elaborated: “The Biden State Department tweaked the waiver last year to allow Tehran to convert the funds from Iraqi dinars to euros, then hold those euros in bank accounts based in Oman. Access to a widely traded currency like the euro enables Iran to more easily spend the cash in international markets. Under the first Trump administration, Iran had to keep the cash in an escrow account in Baghdad, making it more difficult to access.”
Despite assurances from the Biden administration that the funds would be strictly limited to humanitarian purposes, critics remain unconvinced. The administration contends that mechanisms are in place to prevent the money from being used for terrorism, but skeptics point out that money is fungible — meaning it can be shifted, repurposed, and obscured with relative ease. And if there’s a country that’s willing to repurpose it’s finances in order to promote or engage in terrorism, it’s Iran.
Concerns over the decision are amplified by Iran’s longstanding role as the primary financier of terrorism in the Middle East, particularly in light of Hamas’s unprecedented attack on Israel on October 7, 2023. Adding fuel to the fire, comments from Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, who passed away in May, suggest a starkly different perspective on how the funds would be used. During an interview with NBC News last year, Raisi asserted Iran’s autonomy in deciding how to allocate the money.
“This money belongs to the Islamic Republic of Iran, and naturally, we will decide, the Islamic Republic of Iran will decide to spend it wherever we need it,” Raisi stated when pressed about the intended use of the funds. When interviewer Lester Holt asked if the money might be used for more than just humanitarian purposes, Raisi doubled down, saying, “Humanitarian means whatever the Iranian people need, so this money will be budgeted for those needs. And the needs of the Iranian people will be decided and determined by the Iranian government.”

While Raisi is no longer alive, his sentiments are likely shared among current leaders in the Islamic Republic of Iran. There’s no doubt that they still hold onto Raisi’s truth that this money should be used for Iran’s benefit only. It’s why so many critics of the Biden admin’s decision to waive these sanctions are terrified at the potential outcome of Iran having their hands on more financial assets. Terrorist sponsors like the Islamic Republic of Iran should have less power and financial stability, not more.
And it’s clear that Iran will do whatever it wishes in regards to the assets that have now been unfrozen by the Biden administration. This should come as no surprise to anyone, especially considering Iran’s past. Yet for some reason Joe Biden decided that it would be a good idea to embolden one of the top terrorist regimes in the world. Keeping America safe likely wasn’t on his mind when he made this decision.

Jokementia has always been an enemy of Americans…
There goes his whatever they called a brain. Biden isn’t smart enough to do this on his own. It is so dangerous to give in to Iran in any way. Someone should start impeaching immediately. Get it into wherever necessary immediately. Freeze his policies before he does more damage. He’s already made a mess of everything he looked or touched. His brain is out of order. He needs to be put away fast. He’s dangerous to be left loose! STOP HIM NOW, BEFORE HE CAN DO MORE DAMAGE TO OUR AMERICA!!!
