Over the past few years, Democrats have been paying more attention to the Judicial branch, with some on the far Left calling for dramatic and radical reform from top to bottom for the Judicial branch of government. This largely comes from discontent with the fact that Donald Trump earned the right to nominate three Justices to the U.S. Supreme Court when he won his 2016 election against Hillary Clinton. Not only that, but he saw dozens and dozens of federal judges confirmed on his watch.
The Left is now trying to pretend like their calls for a complete rework of the Judicial branch is just what’s right and overdue. The truth is that they are lashing out against losing the U.S. Supreme Court majority for many years, unless they are able to start drumming up support for rewriting the U.S. constitution to rework the judiciary in their favor.
After Donald Trump won in November this year, the Democrats were quick to call on the oldest liberal on the U.S. Supreme Court bench to resign. However, it became clear that she has no intentions to do so. If she resigns during Donald Trump’s tenure, they will have to put up with Donald Trump nominating a fourth Justice to the High Court between his two terms. In response to Justice Sotomayor declining to resign, the Democrat Party concocted the idea of expanding the number of federal judges before Joe Biden leaves office. That way, they could ram through radical, far Left judges into federal courts before Donald Trump takes office once more.
Well Joe Biden has declined this move. He has vetoed a bill that would have increased the number of federal judges in active service. This has many of his Democrat allies and Democrat operatives feeling blue, left with egg on their faces as they will have to put up with the judiciary as it is instead of being able to reshape it in their favor.
U.S. Senator Chris Coons (D-DELAWARE) has recently shared that he is “disappointed” in Joe Biden for not signing the law to give the Democrats what they want to ram through federal judges ahead of Trump’s inauguration. He argues it’s because of “case load” that he wants to increase the number of active federal judges, while critics suggest this is merely a sleight of hand for the Left to get what they want.
“I am disappointed by this outcome, for my own state and for the federal judges throughout the country struggling under the burden of ever-higher caseloads. I’ve worked on this bill for years, and thanks to tireless bipartisan effort with Senator Young, it made it to the president’s desk. It’s highly unfortunate that it will not become law,” Democrat Chris Coons said after the news broke that Joe Biden would not be signing the bill into law.
President Joe Biden vetoed a bipartisan bill creating 66 new federal judgeships, citing concerns over allocation and avoiding appointments by President-elect Donald Trump (Politico).

Oddly enough, Chris Coons is actually trying to blame Republicans for the bill not being signed into law, even though it was Joe Biden who vetoed it. The contentious House of Representatives did end up passing the bill, so Chris Coon’s suggestion that Republicans are responsible is head-scratching to say the least.
“Senator Young and I took pains to make this a nonpartisan process, structuring the JUDGES Act so that Congress could pass the bill before any of us – Republican or Democrat – knew who would occupy the White House in 2025 and therefore nominate the new federal judges,” Coons went on to share in a statement. “The Senate did its part by passing the bill unanimously in August; the Republican-controlled House of Representatives, however, waited for election results before moving the bill forward. As a result, the White House is now vetoing this bill,” he added.
The accusation from Coons that it was Republicans who k*lled the bill is even funnier when you consider that a number of Republicans were willing to pass the bill because they were betting on Democrats in Congress not being able to band together to ram through federal judge nominations before Republicans take back control of the U.S. Senate. Several Republicans have shared in statements that they believe this is why Joe Biden actually vetoed the bill, out of fear that Donald Trump will be handed more judicial appointments.
“At that time, Democrats supported the bill – they thought Kamala Harris would win the presidency. Now, however, the Biden-Harris administration has chosen to issue a veto threat and Democrats have whipped against this bill, standing in the way of progress, simply because of partisan politics,” U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) shared with reporters after the bill was vetoed.
The bill had delegated for 66 brand new positions for new federal judges, but only adding them over a period fo ten years. What’s ironic is that both parties were willing to get this bill passed, assuming it would work in their favor. Now it’s the Democrats who are furious with their own sitting President (who is a lame duck, to be sure) simply because it didn’t work out in their favor.
In the U.S. Senate, the bill passed unanimously. No Republicans voted against the bill at all. They were sure this would help Donald Trump in his second term, though now they will be forced to pass through similar legislation should they want Donald Trump the opportunity to sign such legislation into law. If so, the Republicans will have an increasingly slim majority in the U.S. House to be able to get such a bill over to the U.S. Senate and ultimately on Donald Trump’s desk.
Though they now have the added benefit of a number of Democrats on record saying that the bill should be passed without a hitch because of a need to spread out “case load”. If that’s the case, then the Democrats should have no problem passing legislation to do so when the new Congress is inaugurated. Will they do that? Of course not. The Democrats have not responded well in the wake of their devastating 2024 elections losses.
The Washington, D.C. political game is still corrupt. The Democrats wholly embody that corruption and are entirely unwilling to lift a finger when Donald Trump is in office. Ironically, that’s what has put them in such a bad position electorally. The American people see that. The Republican Party has its fair share of corruption, too. Yet, the American people see it differently. It’s not hard to see why when Democrats effectively act like children holding their breath whenever Donald Trump’s name is mentioned.
Do you think Democrats are only willing to play ball if there’s something in it for them? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
absolutely!!
The parties retroflexively take opposite sides of every issue… to get donations…
Washington D.C. (or the government elites) has been corrupt since the days of John Adams and the Sedition Act of1798. Nothing new there. But Democrat citizens used to uphold the Constitution as well as Republicans. Disappointingly, they now resemble sheep following a wolf in sheep’s clothing, willing to believe any lie they’re told. I thought there would have been a hue and cry over not being allowed to vote in a Democrat Primary. But, no, not a word was spoken. I have a close relation who is sure “covid” was authentic, even though she’s a PhD mathematician and knows that the recovery rate was 99.98%. She said she would take the shot again blindly because she trusts Biden . Very sad, really. A professor with no critical thinking skills whatsoever. Very sad.
We should never ever have a Democrat as President in the Oval Office again!
These last 4 years should have taught us that! If this current one does not exit
quickly no telling what addtional damage will be done! Corrupt to the core.
Trump will have his hands full of trash to take out and right so many wrongs
before he can get his agenda running to drain the swamp and put his plans
in place. He doesn’t deserve this distraction but he will have to deal with it..
thanks to Biden and the Demos……
