Rep. Jasmine Crockett Against Giving Checks To Taxpayers Through DOGE Dividends

For decades, American citizens have grown incredibly tired of Uncle Sam taking their taxpayer dollars only to waste them on pointless government programs. Americans are seeing their paychecks take a hit because of these taxes, and that only leads to resentment of the federal government.

But President Donald Trump and his administration are looking to regain trust with U.S. citizens and the government. By creating the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Trump is helping to lead an effort to expose government waste and fraud. This will in turn help save taxpayer dollars and create a more efficient government.

Tech mogul Elon Musk, who was tapped by Trump to lead DOGE, has been a major player in exposing countless instances of fraud just one month into President Trump’s second term. And because of his efforts, as well as DOGE’s efforts in general, there have been talks by Trump to give back some of the money (in the form of dividend checks amounting to $5,000) that DOGE has helped expose as wasteful spending within the federal government.

This seems like a proposal most everyone can agree on. But not everyone is on board. One Democrat congresswoman has recently come out to oppose this plan by Donald Trump and DOGE. Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) claims that the dividend checks wouldn’t really help Americans. But in an economy that’s working to bounce back from the Biden administration’s four years overseeing it, $5,000 would certainly go a long way with most American families. By not seeing that, Crockett is proving just how out of touch she is with the American people.

Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett Opposes Proposed DOGE Dividend Payments Despite Past Support for Reparations

Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) has voiced strong opposition to a proposal from the Trump administration that would provide Americans with $5,000 dividend checks from government savings through the DOGE initiative. Speaking to ABC News on Thursday, Crockett dismissed the idea, stating that the federal government “is not in the business of giving out money.”

The proposed payments, likened to a “tax refund check,” would be funded through cost-cutting measures implemented by DOGE, a program aimed at reducing wasteful government spending. Despite her firm rejection of the plan, Crockett has previously advocated for taxpayer-funded reparations, including a proposal suggesting that black Americans be exempt from paying taxes for a certain period.

When questioned about her stance during the ABC News interview, the host directly asked whether she would support President Trump’s proposal. “President Trump says he likes the idea of giving some of the savings from DOGE back to Americans as kind of a dividend. Would you support that?” the host inquired.

Crockett was unequivocal in her response. “No. We are not in the business of giving out money, and honestly, I don’t know what $5,000 will do for you,” she said. Her opposition to the proposal contrasts with her remarks in April 2024, when she argued that black Americans should receive tax exemptions as a form of reparations. “To think that America doesn’t owe the descendants of slaves is an error,” she stated at the time.

President Trump addressed the dividend proposal during an investment conference in Miami on Wednesday, explaining that his administration was considering a plan to allocate 20 percent of the savings generated by DOGE to American citizens. “A new concept where we give 20 percent of the DOGE savings to American citizens” is “under consideration,” Trump told reporters. According to Forbes, he further elaborated that his administration is “thinking about giving 20 percent back to the American citizens and 20 percent back to pay down debt.”

The idea was originally introduced by James Fishback, CEO of investment firm Azoria, who drafted a four-page proposal outlining the distribution of a “tax refund check” to all taxpayer households. The plan is tied to the scheduled conclusion of DOGE in July 2026, at which point the funds would be made available for distribution.

Jasmine Crockett’s refusal to relate with Americans over their financial needs is certainly cause for concern. For most, $5,000 would go a long way in their bank accounts. Not only that, but it seems as though she’s only opposing this proposal by Donald Trump simply because she can’t stand him and his overall ideology.

I don’t blame this Texas representative. I blame the people who voted to elect such a liberal Left leaning activist to Congress. Of course she is going to vote against any bill that gives back money to anyone but liberals like she is. She is the result of having an uneducated electorate.

Look at her she is a liar. She’s probably been getting some of that illegal money DOGE has been finding. Giving our tax money back to us is not wrong.
