Illegal immigration is a hot button issue in this country, specifically when it comes to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) doing their job to remove illegal migrants from America. While most Republicans and even the majority of legal immigrants approve of what the Trump administration is doing to fix the illegal immigration crisis in the U.S., there are many Democrats who vehemently oppose the president’s efforts.
This isn’t surprising given that most Democrats oppose practically anything President Donald Trump does. But through their critiques, Democrat lawmakers are taking things to the extreme. They’re calling for the abolishment of ICE because they believe that the law enforcement agency shouldn’t have the opportunity to do their job due to perceived cruelty.
One Democrat Senator is speaking up against those critiques, however. Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) has come out to bash Democrats who want ICE to be dismantled. He understands that they are simply doing their job to help deport immigrants who have entered the country illegally, many of them violent criminals. This is something the majority of the country voted for in November. Even Democrats like John Kerry have recently come out to suggest that the immigration crisis under President Joe Biden was a disaster and that Donald Trump is right to try and fix it.
But despite the majority of the country being in favor of decreasing illegal immigration, there are some fringe politicians who don’t want this to occur. Fetterman’s recent comments offer a glimpse of hope that bipartisanship can be applied to this issue which would go a long way in helping to solve it.
Fetterman Champions ICE Through Immigration Policy Firestorm
Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) has thrust himself into the heart of the immigration debate, staunchly defending Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) while rebuking fellow Democrats pushing to dismantle the agency. In a video, the Pennsylvania senator threw his full support behind ICE agents, praising their vital role in national security.
“ICE agents are just doing their job, and I fully support that,” Fetterman declared. “People in my party might want to abolish it or treat them as criminals or anything, that’s just inappropriate and outrageous. ICE performs an important job for our nation.”
Taking to X, Fetterman doubled down, writing, “ICE performs an important job for our country. Any calls to abolish ICE are [100%] inappropriate and outrageous.” His stance directly challenges figures like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), who recently branded ICE a “rogue agency” in a fundraising email.
ICE performs an important job for our country.
Any calls to abolish ICE are 💯 inappropriate and outrageous.

Yet, Fetterman’s position isn’t one-dimensional. In a move that adheres more to the Democrat Party’s stance on illegal immigration, he also endorsed mass amnesty for undocumented immigrants who contribute to society.
“Absolutely support amnesty for the hardworking, otherwise law-abiding migrant workers,” he stated online. “Round up and deport the criminals. We must acknowledge the critical contribution migrants make to our nation’s economy.”
This nuanced stance—backing ICE while advocating for amnesty—has certainly created debate. Fetterman’s comments come amid escalating attacks on federal agents, including a deadly incident in McAllen, Texas, where a gunman, k*lled in what authorities called “a purposeful ambush/attack against federal agents,” injured two Border Patrol officers. In Los Angeles, four individuals were arrested for allegedly planting homemade road spikes to hinder law enforcement.
Fetterman’s views also clash with an anonymous House Democrat’s inflammatory remark that opponents of mass deportations might need to risk violence, stating, “There needs to be blood to grab the attention of the press and the public.”
By breaking ranks with his party’s anti-ICE faction, Fetterman has exposed deep divisions within the Democratic Party on immigration. It’s likely that he will receive a lot of pushback from fellow Democrats for his stance on ICE. By more bipartisanship like what Fetterman is exuding, is crucial in helping to fix not only illegal immigration, but many other issues in this country.
Do you agree with Fetterman’s comments regarding ICE? As always, please let us know your thoughts by posting in the comments down below!
I agree wholeheartedly with Fetterman. Democrats are only looking out for themselves. They’re liars, traitorous, murderers, and outright demon possessed lunatics who believe that only their agenda matters. Everyone else, and their agendas, are baseless slaves. They are literally ushering in everything that is written about in the book of Revelation, and they’re happy about it. Democrats think they’re gods. But, they’re exactly like the Muslims: terrorists!!! Time to put them all in prison for treason, murdering the unborn, and for crimes against humanity!!
At least one Democrat has it right. Fetterman He’s one of the few that seems to understand the rules and laws.
I’m also a proponent of 1st generation immigrants not being able to hold a seat in State or Federal politics. That would stop alot of the idiocy I see happening.
One Russian President had it right, America will fall from within
I didn’t think Fetterman was a good candidate when he got elected but he has common sense and my thought about have changed for the good. GO FETTERMAN!!!
You can’t conflate immigrants with illegal aliens. One is knowingly a criminal, breaking our laws to come here. The other shows respect for our laws and a willingness to accept them.
Sure, the guy who’s had a landscaping business for 20 years he’s illegal, but he has paid his taxes. He’s a hard worker. He hasn’t broken any laws maybe a speeding ticket but that’s minor. Here’s a guy who is adding to society. He’s beneficial and I agree with him getting citizenship. He’s after so many years of abiding the laws he’s earned the right, but the ones that are committing to crimes give them Buddha as fast as you can to get them out of here.
