A number of Americans believe they don’t actually know who Kamala Harris truly is. Democrat and Republican voters, thus far, have reported in surveys that they don’t have a good grasp on her history and what she actually stands for. To some extent, this makes sense given the circumstances and series of events that have led to her becoming the de facto leader of the Democrat Party and nominee to run against Donald Trump in November this year.

There’s a real reason this is the case. The Democrat Party was willing to go with Kamala Harris in their time of crisis after Joe Biden stepped aside because they knew the American people didn’t really know her too well. Her favorability ratings have been low and overall interest in her has been low even for a Vice President. It’s not like Vice Presidents ever get the spotlight very much in modern years — and yet Kamala Harris has been underperforming even with the attention she has been able to get over the past few years. So where did she come from? Who is Kamala Harris?

The Beginning: Kamala Devi Harris Becomes A Democrat-Elite Darling

Kamala Devi Harris was born on October 20th, 1964 in Oakland, California with two parents who were highly-educated professors in the fields of biology and economics, respectively. Her mother, Shyamala Gopalan, in particular, had a serious impact on her upbringing and the type of woman she would become. She introduced Kamala to the Hindu faith at a young age by taking Harris and her siblings to a Hindu Temple where Shyamala was a frequent singer during their “worship” services. Kamala Harris has referenced her connection with her mother and her maternal family as a major reason why she became interested in discussions on democracy, criminal justice, and women’s rights.

After high school, Kamala Harris started her higher education career at Vanier College in Canada before eventually transferring to Howard University — one of the most popular Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) in North America — in Washington, D.C. where she would graduate in 1986 with a Political Science degree.

It was during her college career that she found her “in” with the Democrat politics that she would climb the ranks of in the coming decades. At Howard University, she worked as a clerk for the U.S. Senator from California Alan Cranston, a Democrat who spent nearly thirty years in Congress as a Democrat Party staple in the Upper Chamber between 1969 and 1993. During this time, she also worked as an intern with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). She worked with the Bureau of Consumer Protection, and this shaped her views on government regulation of industries for the “benefit” of consumers, as she would say.

After her time at Howard University, she set her eyes on diving into the intersection between law and politics by seeking a law degree from the University of California College of the Law in San Francisco. She graduated in 1989 and was barred the following year in 1990. Here is where her deep connections with Democrat elites all started.

The Strange Rise of Kamala Harris within Democrat Establishment Circles

In 1994, Kamala Harris came under the wing of the top legislator in the entire state of California, one Willie Brown, who would become the Democrat Mayor of San Francisco from 1996 to 2004. Willie Brown, at the age of 60 years old, had a romantic relationship with the young deputy district attorney Kamala Harris who was barely 30 years old. Willie Brown was a married man who was “separated” from his wife for more than ten years at this point, but it’s noteworthy nonetheless.

Willie Brown gave Kamala Harris a position on the California state Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board and then later gave her a position in the commission of the California Medical Assistance. Kamala Harris to this day insists she received no favorable treatment in her positions as a result of her intimate relationship with Willie Brown.

In 2002, Kamala Harris took the opportunity to run as the District Attorney of San Francisco and her addition to the race forced a run-off as no one garnered a majority to outright win the race. In the runoff, the Kamala Harris for District Attorney campaign aggressively targeted her opponent Hallinan for not being a strong enough prosecutor. She eventually won her election and would serve two terms.

During her time as the District Attorney of San Francisco, one of the most powerful positions in all of California, she was responsible for overseeing nearly two thousand convictions for legally petty drug offenses, like marijuana possession. She garnered a reputation as being one of the harshest prosecutors the city had ever seen, with a higher prosecutorial rate of low-level marijuana crimes than any of her predecessors. In fact, her replacement George Gascon would go on to expunge all of the records of petty marijuana crimes in the city going all the way back to the year 1975. This was a direct response to the increasingly hawkish approach Harris had for prosecuting San Franciscans.

Kamala Harris also became known for aggressively seeking higher bail thresholds for criminal defendants, saying that low bail encouraged repeat crimes and worsening societal impacts as a result.

Towards the end of her career as the San Francisco District Attorney, Kamala Harris launched an initiative that remains extremely unpopular and controversial to this day. Her new initiative was to target parents for truancy charges, arguing that the data suggested that a majority of the criminals in San Francisco were school dropouts. Her office literally sent out threatening mailers to families throughout the city warning every one of the charges she would bring against anyone who would risk defying the state’s laws on school attendance. Her consequences included throwing parents in jail for up to a year and thousands of dollars in fines.

These were not empty threats, either. Kamala Harris and her office allies went after six different parents who had children who missed north of fifty days of public-school attendance. This was the first time San Francisco had a major truancy case brought against parents in the city’s history. The Harris office spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on these cases with an aggressive prosecutorial approach, but was ultimately unsuccessful in jailing any parent.

Kamala Harris Reaches New Heights With A New Face

In 2010, Kamala Harris was running for the position as the Attorney General of California against the Republican Steve Cooley. Despite California being a state with a net-Democrat voting base to the tune of fifteen to twenty points, Kamala Harris barely won her election that year by beating Republican Steve Cooley by less than a percentage point. It’s during her time as the Attorney General of California where she truly made a shift to become a Democrat establishment darling. One who would do the bidding of the Democrat Party when asked with no questions asked.

In 2014, Kamala Harris as Attorney General of California had appealed a federal ruling that was going to allow an imprisoned biological man who said he was a woman (transgender woman) receive a gender-change surgery. She argued it was unnecessary.

“Norsworthy has been treated for gender dysphoria for over 20 years, and there is no indication that her condition has somehow worsened to the point where she must obtain s*x-reassignment surgery now rather than waiting until this case produces a final judgment on the merits,” Harris wrote in her appeal. This is largely a chapter of the career of Kamala Harris that the Democrat Party does not like to talk about under any circumstances whatsoever, for the obvious reason that it doesn’t line up with who she proclaims to be today.

Shortly after she began her career as the Attorney General of California, in 2011, Harris once again pursued severe criminal charges for parents who could be found guilty of truancy violations. One victim of the harsh prosecutorial approach of the state under Harris’ leadership said that “you would swear I had k*lled somebody” with the way the state’s courts treated her.

This was no hidden initiative either. Harris highlighted her very authoritarian approach on this issue in her inauguration back in 2011, saying “We are putting parents on notice. If you fail in your responsibility to your kids, we are going to work to make sure you face the full force and consequences of the law.”

A public defender working one of the cases shared with reporters that this felt like the courts trying to do a job that the school districts are supposed to be doing. “What it ended up being, practically, is families and kids having to come to court to be told to utilize certain services in order to come to school,” one anonymous public defender had to say about the truancy fiasco during the Harris years. “Which, from where I sit, is very much the job of the school district and not the job of the criminal court,” the anonymous source added.

Harris Eyes The Senate; The Shapeshifting Of Kamala Comes Into Focus

In 2015, Democrat U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer would announce that she was no longer seeking another term to the Upper Chamber after spending more than thirty years in Washington, D.C. politics. Naturally, Kamala Harris saw this as her opportunity. It only took her a week to announce that she would launch a campaign to start a new career in Washington, D.C. and outside of her California bubble she had been so used to for decades.

In 2016, Kamala Harris dominated the California Democrat Party primary race for the replacement of Barbara Boxer. In November of that year, she faced no opponent from the Republicans but secured a win against her Democrat challenger Loretta Sanchez, beating her out by about twenty-three points.

Her career as a U.S. Senator would look nothing like her time as a prosecutor in California. Truancy, which was once a major issue for her as seen throughout her historical career in California, was now a thing of the past. Being tough on drug crime was a thing of the past. Voicing concerns over gender-change surgeries was a thing of the past.

Now, a new and reformed Kamala Harris focused on a softer “criminal justice reform” that sought to defend those who were being harshly targeted by prosecutors for petty misdemeanors and non-violent crimes. She was once one of these prosecutors she came to criticize during her tenure as a U.S. Senator.

Instead of focusing on truancy enforcement, she now sought “education reform” to help bolster public schools and expand oversight of public-school systems and school boards throughout the nation. There was no longer a harsh approach to issues in education by pointing the fingers at parental figures, that was unacceptable for Democrats by the time she found herself in the U.S. Senate.

On the LGBT issues, Harris was now suddenly an “ally”. She publicly called for an investigation into the death of a biological man who claimed to be a woman (transgender woman) who was an immigrant and in the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. In 2019, she also expressed “regret” for the way she previously handled transgender issues during her time as the Attorney General of California.

In 2019 at a Town Hall with CNN’s Don Lemon, Kamala Harris would even go so far as to say she was now of the opinion that maybe violent criminals should be allowed to exercise the right to vote, regardless of what they’ve done. She argued, we should “have the conversation,” when directly asked by Mr. Don Lemon.

Kamala Harris Runs For President, Falls On Her Face

On January 21st of 2019, Kamala Harris had announced her campaign to become the next President of the United States of America by throwing her name into the hat for the Democrat Party’s nomination to take on the, at the time, incumbent Republican Donald Trump.

At first, her campaign was met with immense success. She pulled in eye-watering numbers of donations by pulling in more than $1.5 million in just twenty-four hours since announcing her candidacy. Many of these donations were small donations as well, indicating she might have had grassroots support from within the Democrat Party. Harris even had over twenty thousand people at her campaign launch rally, which she held in her comfortable town of Oakland, California. The success wouldn’t last long, however.

You may recall Kamala Harris taking an opportunity to make an awkward attack on her fellow Democrat and opponent in the primary race, Joe Biden, by trying to imply that he is a racist. She argued he supported pro-segregation policies back in the 1970s that held down the black community. This didn’t land well with the Democrat base at-large. Still, Harris found herself at the top of the heat.

The second debate is where she truly got exposed, and all the work she had put in to reach this moment started to crumble. The façade of her new “progressive” side was about to be exposed to the entire nation on live television. Democrat primary challenger, Tulsi Gabbard, put Kamala Harris right in her sights and fired off a round of damaging facts during the second debate held in August of 2019. Tulsi Gabbard brought receipts from the shocking, but true, history of Kamala Harris as a prosecutor in California. Gabbard brought up many of the same points we’ve laid out for you earlier in this article.

In the wake of this brutal exposure of the truth of her history, Kamala Harris was forced to suspend her campaign in December of 2019. She never even made it to a single primary election that season. She never won a single delegate and she was expected to fade into the background.

Kamala Harris Has An Unexpected (Undeserving) Saving Grace

In 2020, Joe Biden announced that he was going to absolutely pick only a black woman to be his Vice President running mate to round out his ticket. He largely made this announcement feeling cornered by the Democrat Party to improve his odds of shoring up the black voting bloc since he was an aging white man with a long career of Washington, D.C. politics.

On August 11, 2020, Joe Biden stunned the nation by picking Kamala Harris as his Vice President. The one who had called him a racist to his face during the primary debates, was now going to be the one to appear on the ballot with him in November of that year.

Fast forward to July of 2024, and now we all know that she is assumed to be the replacement for Joe Biden as the Democrat’s nominee for President. She never won any national election, she had very little success and had to drop out early because of her floundering campaign. Yet, she’s the new darling of the Democrat Party. The Democrats who have been lecturing the American people all over the nation about “preserving” Democracy didn’t even try to have a free and fair primary after Joe Biden announced he wasn’t going to be seeking a second term anymore. It had to be Kamala Harris.

Now, the media is giving her flowery reporting unlike anything you’ve ever seen before. She’s the savior of the nation and she’s uniquely qualified for this moment, according to the media talking heads on CNN, MSNBC, and ABC. This is all ignorant of the facts about her entire political history. Her history has been a murky, and extremely suspicious one, at best. At worst, she’s one of the most power-hungry narcissistic candidates the American people have ever seen. That’s saying a lot for the office of a President that has a history of attracting narcissists who are seeking more and more political power.

The media will spend the next few months leading up to the election saying that she has all the background of a “woman of the people.” Do you think so?
