Trump set to sanction Russia and all who do business with them

Trump’s Decisive Approval Strengthens U.S. Stance Against Russian Aggression

President Donald Trump has given the green light to a robust bipartisan sanctions bill against Russia, a move hailed by Sen. Lindsey Graham as a game-changer in pressuring Moscow to halt its invasion of Ukraine.

Graham shared the update on X, praising Trump’s support for the legislation he’s been championing alongside Sen. Richard Blumenthal and others.

“After a very productive meeting today with President Trump on a variety of issues, he greenlit the bipartisan Russia sanctions bill that I have been working on for months with Senator Blumenthal and many others,” Graham stated.

He added, “This will be well-timed, as Ukraine is making concessions for peace and Putin is all talk, continuing to k*ll the innocent.”

This endorsement underscores Trump’s firm leadership in foreign policy, empowering the U.S. to take bolder steps toward isolating Russia economically and fostering global stability.

Sweeping Powers to Cripple Putin’s War Funding

The Sanctioning Russia Act of 2025 equips Trump with extensive authority to sever Russia’s financial lifelines and hold accountable nations that prop up its war efforts through trade.

A standout provision mandates a staggering 500% tariff on imports from any country persisting in buying Russian oil, petroleum products, or uranium, effectively disrupting Moscow’s revenue streams while encouraging international compliance with U.S. sanctions.

Graham emphasized the bill’s potential impact, saying, “This bill will allow President Trump to punish those countries who buy cheap Russian oil fueling Putin’s war machine,” and “This bill would give President Trump tremendous leverage against countries like China, India and Brazil to incentivize them to stop buying the cheap Russian oil that provides the financing for Putin’s bloodbath against Ukraine.”

With voting possibly as soon as next week, Graham anticipates solid bipartisan backing, reflecting Trump’s ability to unite lawmakers on critical national security issues.

Escalating U.S. Actions Signal Winning Strategy Under Trump

This development aligns with recent assertive U.S. moves, including the seizure of an oil tanker carrying sanctioned Venezuelan oil destined for Russia, which Graham celebrated on X as part of a series of victories targeting adversaries like Venezuela and Cuba.

He also addressed opponents, such as Sen. Rand Paul, who worry about trade repercussions, but the overall push demonstrates Trump’s proactive approach to countering global threats. Fox News Digital has sought comment from the White House on these advancements.

im sure our president knows what’s the best moves to make. Russia is dangerous and can’t be trusted in anything. He should be stopped asap. Do what’s necessary. I trust our president 200%. He knows what has to be accomplished, and he’s doing it.
