In the heart of Minnesota, Vice President JD Vance just tore apart another fake narrative peddled by the mainstream media and Democrat politicians.
They’re claiming that ICE agents heartlessly arrested a five-year-old boy, but Vance laid out the real facts, showing how this story is just more anti-enforcement propaganda. It’s the kind of twisted tale that fires up the left’s base while ignoring the chaos caused by open borders.
The whole mess kicked off when Rep. Ilhan Omar, the far-left Democrat from Minnesota, blasted out a post on social media. She linked to a local news story from Columbia Heights Public Schools, where Superintendent Zena Stenvik hinted that ICE had grabbed a kindergartener on his way to class. Omar didn’t hold back, ranting about how this proves the system targets innocents.
“ICE just detained a 5-year-old child. Don’t tell us this is about ‘the worst of the worst.’ That’s a lie. Absolutely vile,” Omar stated.
Digging into the details, it turns out the boy, Liam Ramos, wasn’t arrested at all. His father, Adrian Alexander Conejo Arias, is an illegal alien from Ecuador who got released into the U.S. under the Biden administration’s lax policies. When ICE showed up to do their job and enforce the law, Arias bolted from his vehicle, ditching his own son in the process.
Department of Homeland Security officials set the record straight: “On January 20, ICE conducted a targeted operation to arrest Adrian Alexander Conejo Arias an illegal alien from Ecuador who was released into the U.S. by the Biden administration.” They explained that as agents closed in, the father ran off on foot, abandoning the child right there.
For the kid’s safety, one ICE officer stuck with Liam while the others chased down and nabbed Arias. It’s basic human decency—protecting a vulnerable child left behind by a fleeing criminal. But the media spun it into some horror story about detaining toddlers.
DHS went further, noting that parents in these situations get choices. They can opt to be removed with their children, or ICE arranges for the kids to go to a trusted person the parent picks. This isn’t some new Trump-era crackdown; it’s how things have worked under previous administrations too.
They even pointed out options for illegal aliens to handle their exit smoothly. Parents can take charge of their departure, snag a free flight, and pocket $2,600 through the CBP Home app. Plus, using the app opens doors to coming back legally later. It’s generous, really.
Vance didn’t let this slide. During a press conference in Minneapolis on Thursday, he called out the bogus claim head-on. He did his homework and found the real story, blasting the idea that ICE “arrested” the boy when they were just keeping him safe from his own father’s recklessness.
“I do a little bit more follow-up research, and what I find is that the five-year-old was not arrested, that his dad was an illegal alien, and when they went to arrest his illegal alien father, the father ran. So the story is that ICE detained a five-year-old, well, what are they supposed to do? Are they supposed to let a 5-year-old child freeze to death?” Vance said, cutting right to the absurdity of the left’s outrage.
“If the argument is that you can’t arrest people who’ve violated the laws because they have children, then every single parent is going to be given complete immunity from ever being a subject of law enforcement,” Vance declared.
“That doesn’t make any sense. No one thinks that makes any sense,” he added, appealing to the everyday American who knows right from wrong. Vance’s no-nonsense takedown resonates with folks tired of seeing our laws bent to protect those who shouldn’t be here in the first place.
This incident shines a light on the bigger immigration mess left by Biden and Harris. Millions poured across the border under their watch. Now, with Trump and Vance cleaning house, the left screams foul every time ICE does its job.
At the end of the day, Vance’s response is a win for common sense. It reminds us why we need leaders who prioritize American families over sob stories from those gaming the system. If the Democrats keep pushing these lies, they’re only proving why voters rejected their open-borders agenda.
