White House Spokesman Admits Barely Knowing Biden Amid Massive Health Cover-Up

Washington Republicans have uncovered fresh evidence in the explosive Biden health scandal, revealing how top aides shielded a declining president from scrutiny while misleading the American public. Ian Sams, a former special assistant to former President Joe Biden, testified on Thursday that he only “interacted” with his boss on two occasions, Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer said.

In his appearance before the House Oversight Committee, Sams claimed just two in-person meetings with Biden during his White House tenure, a detail that has fueled accusations of a deliberate effort to hide the president’s deteriorating condition from those tasked with defending him publicly.

“Listen, I want to say this one more time so everyone understands. Ian Sams, who was the White House spokesperson for a significant time of Joe Biden’s time as president, only interacted with him two times. Two times,” Comer told reporters.

This limited access raises serious questions about how Sams could confidently vouch for Biden’s fitness when he had so little direct exposure to the man he was promoting as sharp and capable.

The Biden health cover-up, now under intense congressional probe, centers on claims that a tight-knit group of aides, family members, and Democratic insiders concealed the president’s cognitive and physical decline throughout his term, putting national security at risk and deceiving voters ahead of the 2024 election.

Republicans, led by Comer, have labeled this one of the biggest scandals in U.S. history, with investigations revealing how Biden’s inner circle limited his interactions, managed his schedule to avoid slip-ups, and dismissed mounting evidence of his frailty. Key revelations from the House Oversight Committee’s work include subpoenas for Biden’s physician, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, and former aides like Annie Tomasini and Anthony Bernal, who allegedly ran interference to keep the president’s true state hidden.

A bombshell book by journalists Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson, titled Original Sin, exposes how Biden’s team went to extremes, even discussing wheelchair use for the president while publicly insisting he was in top form.

The book details shocking incidents, such as Biden failing to recognize longtime ally George Clooney at a fundraiser or struggling to recall the name of his key adviser Mike Donilon, highlighting a “non-functioning” version of the president that aides desperately tried to conceal.

Liberal media outlets, long accused of carrying water for Democrats, played a role in the deception by mocking concerns about Biden’s gaffes and stumbles as right-wing smears, only to backpedal after his disastrous June 2024 debate performance exposed the truth. That debate, where Biden appeared confused and rambled incoherently, forced him to withdraw from the race in July 2024, paving the way for Kamala Harris’s failed bid against President Donald Trump.

Post-presidency bombshells continued in 2025, with Biden’s May diagnosis of aggressive prostate cancer sparking suspicions that health issues were downplayed or ignored during his time in office to maintain the facade of competence. President Trump wasted no time, issuing an executive order in June 2025 to investigate the alleged conspiracy, questioning whether unauthorized actions like pardons were taken while Biden was unfit.

Biden’s defenders, including a spokesperson who hit back at the Tapper book, insist that signs of aging were not proof of incapacity, but critics argue this denial only confirms the elite’s arrogance in propping up a failing leader.

Back to Sams’ testimony, Comer hammered home the hypocrisy, noting that the spokesman “repeatedly defended Biden’s capabilities to serve and disputed that he had declined,” despite barely seeing the president in action.

“Ian Sams frequently spoke publicly and with apparent authority about President Biden’s mental fitness and state of mind. However, Mr. Sams admitted he had very limited interaction with the President—identifying only two in-person meetings, one virtual meeting, and one phone call. In fact, Special Counsel Robert Hur probably spent more time with President Biden than Mr. Sams did,” Comer said in a statement.

This admission notes how Biden’s handlers fed scripted lines to mouthpieces like Sams, who relied on directions from the White House Counsel and inner circle rather than personal observation.

“Rather than drawing conclusions from firsthand experience, Mr. Sams received much of his direction from the White House Counsel and Biden’s inner circle,” the statement continued. “Mr. Sams repeatedly made broad public claims about the President’s cognitive condition, but he was not in a position to make these claims based on such limited contact.”

Sams even pushed back against Special Counsel Robert Hur’s February 2024 report, which described Biden as a “well-meaning elderly man with a poor memory” after probing classified documents mishandling.

During a Feb. 9, 2024, press briefing, Sams called Hur’s claims about Biden having a “poor memory” inaccurate, a bold stance given his own detachment from the president’s daily reality.

Comer’s June 27 letter to Sams pulled no punches, demanding accountability for his role in spinning stories to protect Biden. “You were on the first line of defense to spin negative stories about the President and his mishaps,” Comer wrote. “The scope of your responsibilities—both official and otherwise—and personal interactions within the Oval Office cannot go without investigation, given the mounting evidence that President Biden was incapacitated for much, if not all, of his single term.”

Adding to the irony, when Kamala Harris kicked off her doomed campaign, Sams publicly dared President Trump to release his medical records to prove his health, a challenge that now rings hollow amid revelations of Biden’s hidden frailties.
