White House & Trump Allies Looking Into Shutting Down the Department of Education

If you ask most Americans, they’d admit that the federal government is way too large. When a government continues to increase in size, that means less and less freedoms are afforded to its citizens. Unless you enjoy being under the rule of a nanny state, most people would prefer to have their constitutional freedoms unfettered by an overly powerful federal government that can easily trample those rights.

One department in the federal government has gotten too powerful over the years and has in turn caused countless U.S. citizens to feel as though their rights are being stripped away. That department of course is the Department of Education (DOE). In recent years, public schools have been doling out radical propaganda during their lessons to children. This propaganda involves radical gender and s*xual ideology, and radical race ideology.

To make things worse, these lessons are being taught at the expense of the taxpayer, regardless of whether they want their children learning them or not. Simply put, the DOE is currently indoctrinating America’s youth, and parents have little to no say about it. That’s why there’s been more of a push recently to try and eliminate the DOE altogether. In fact, President Donald Trump has said in the past that he would work to shut the department down.

Well now, that may be becoming a reality. The DOE could very well be shut down during the Trump administration which would then bring the issue of education back to the states where Americans will be able to have a bigger voice about what’s being taught to their children.

Trump Eyes Major Overhaul of the Department of Education

President Trump may be preparing to use executive action to dramatically scale back the Department of Education, with an ultimate goal of abolishing the agency altogether, according to a recent report. This move aligns with his administration’s broader effort to reduce the size of the federal government. Discussions are reportedly underway among administration officials regarding an executive order that would strip the department of nearly all of its functions. The Wall Street Journal reported on Monday that while certain statutory responsibilities would remain within the agency, other programs could be shifted to different federal departments.

Beyond executive action, the order would urge Congress to pass legislation that would officially dissolve the Department of Education. Since the department’s full elimination requires congressional approval, this legislative push would be a necessary next step in Trump’s plan. The Education Department is one of several federal agencies targeted for significant cuts under the oversight of Department of Government Efficiency chief Elon Musk, The Wall Street Journal reports.

“The president plans to fulfill the campaign promise by reevaluating the future of the Department of Education,” a White House official said to the New York Post in response to the report. Throughout his presidential campaign, Trump frequently criticized the Department of Education, promising to shut it down if re-elected. At a rally in Wisconsin last September, he told supporters he was “dying” to return to office to “eliminate the federal Department of Education.”

“We will drain the government education swamp and stop the abuse of your taxpayer dollars to indoctrinate America’s youth with all sorts of things that you don’t want to have our youth hearing,” he declared. In a December interview with Time magazine, Trump stated that his administration would aim for at least a “virtual closure” of the department.

However, some members of his team have urged caution. Officials working with Education Secretary-designate Linda McMahon have reportedly advised delaying the executive order until after her Senate confirmation hearing, fearing it could complicate her nomination, according to reports from The Wall Street Journal.

The Senate has yet to schedule McMahon’s hearing, but Trump’s nomination of her last November signaled his intent to shift education policy back to the states. “We will send Education BACK TO THE STATES, and LINDA will spearhead that effort,” Donald Trump said at the time. His comments late last year are still in line with his current goals to dissolve the DOE.

With Trump’s administration exploring this aggressive approach to dismantling the Department of Education, all eyes will be on Congress and the White House as this initiative unfolds. There certainly will be pushback from the Left and those who want the government to have an expansive role over everyday Americans’ lives. But this sort of “Big Government” attitude is exactly what Donald Trump is used to fighting against.

And even if you agree with some of the radical teachings that the DOE is pushing onto kids, it’s common sense to at least want others to be able to have a choice into whether or not they want their children learning those things. That’s all Donald Trump and his administration are looking to do. They simply want families to have a choice in education. Not only that, but they want to make sure the nation’s youth aren’t being poisoned by radical ideas that could harm their minds.

Yes, it needs to be shut down! Along with at least half of the rest of the federal government!
