Vice Presidential Candidate Tim Walz Accused Of Stolen Valor And Abandoning Post

It took only a few hours after Kamala Harris made her pick for her Vice President running mate for the news to take a seriously damaging downturn for her campaign. She thought picking Tim Walz was smart as she could make a claim for the Midwest rural voters she needs to court in order to win over some undecided Wisconsin and Michigan swing voters. The problem is he is coming in with a ton of baggage.

Most notably, he’s being cast as a fraud who is being accused of abandoning his military service to run for Congress and has even been caught guilty of stolen valor.

The Daily Wire broke this news, writing:

In an open letter posted to Facebook that year, retired Command Sergeants Major Thomas Behrends and Paul Herr wrote that Walz retired just a few months after receiving a warning order that his battalion would be deployed to Iraq – even though he told military personnel he would be going on the mission.

“On May 16th, 2005, [Walz] quit, betraying his country, leaving the 1-125th Field Artillery Battalion and its Soldiers hanging; without its senior Non-Commissioned Officer, as the battalion prepared for war,” the letter shared online reads, condemning Walz’s actions.

So effectively, Walz made a B-line run for the door as soon as it was discovered that his unit would be dispatched for Iraq. That’s a degree of cowardice that is unlikely to sit well with the average American who believes that when you sign up for military service, you owe it to your country to serve honorably and not like a coward.

I wish I could tell you it ends there, but it doesn’t. Tim Walz also referred to himself as a “former Command Sergeant Major” even though he never served in that role and was later demoted back to Master Sergeant. For the record, it is a federal crime to claim a military title that you do not have.

J.D. Vance Licking His Chops Over The News

Vice President candidate J.D. Vance for the Republican ticket is likely going to have a field day with this news over the next three months leading up to the general election in November. He was deployed to Iraq in 2005, and served his country in his deployment honorably.

J.D. Vance even earned himself the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal. “As I stood and surveyed the mass of children of a war-torn nation, their school without running water, and the overjoyed boy, I began to appreciate how lucky I was: born in the greatest country on earth, every modern convenience at my fingertips, supported by two loving hillbillies, and part of a family that, for all its quirks, loved me unconditionally,” Vance has said about his time in the military in his book.

Tim Walz, meanwhile, is seemingly a coward who seems to be out for his own rather than serving for his American comrades as he originally signed up for. That’s truly despicable and has to be eye-opening for any undecided voters in swing states like Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania.
