Trump’s Gaza Peace Push Hits Hamas Wall of Defiance

President Donald Trump’s latest push to bring peace to the Middle East is running headfirst into the brick wall of Hamas stubbornness. The BBC is reporting that the terrorist outfit is gearing up to flat-out reject Trump’s 20-point proposal aimed at wrapping up the Gaza conflict and freeing 48 Israeli hostages still held captive. This comes as no surprise to those who’ve watched Hamas operate—always putting their own power grabs ahead of any real shot at stability.

A top Hamas figure slammed the plan because it “serves Israel’s interests” while blatantly “ignoring those of the Palestinian people,” as picked up by the Jerusalem Post. It’s the same old song from these radicals: cry foul whenever something doesn’t hand them total control on a silver platter.

Hamas is digging in its heels on two massive sticking points in Trump’s blueprint. First, they refuse to even consider giving up their arsenal of weapons. Second, they’re dead set against any international force stepping foot in Gaza to keep the peace. To them, that’s just another form of occupation, even if it’s meant to stop the endless cycle of violence.

They won’t hand over a single rocket or gun, and they’re treating the idea of outside stabilizers like an invasion force in disguise. This kind of hardline stance shows Hamas isn’t interested in laying down arms—they thrive on chaos and conflict.

Just a day earlier, CBS News painted a different picture, hinting that Hamas and other Palestinian groups were starting to come around to the deal, approaching it with some level of seriousness. But now, with these fresh reports of rejection, it’s clear we’re dealing with the usual Hamas playbook: say one thing in public, do the opposite behind closed doors.

While Hamas waffles and whines, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wasted no time. He sat down with Trump at the White House and gave the plan his full stamp of approval. It’s a united front from leaders who actually want to end the bloodshed.

Trump didn’t hold back in his comments, laying it out plain: “If Hamas rejects the deal, which is always possible—they’re the only ones left—then Israel would have my full backing to finish the job of destroying Hamas.” But ever the optimist, he added, “But I have a feeling we’re going to have a positive answer.”

Enter Mahmoud Mardawi, a bigwig in Hamas, who poured cold water all over that optimism. He blasted the proposal as a “one-sided proposal” cooked up to “entrench occupation” and strip away any legitimacy from what he calls the Palestinian fight. His words, reported by Ilkha.com, drip with the usual anti-Israel venom.

Mardawi went further, claiming nobody even bothered to loop in Hamas or the other factions with the details of the plan. To him, that alone makes the whole thing bogus from the start—no consultation, no credibility.

He doubled down, declaring, “This plan aligns with the goals of the Zionist occupation and offers no genuine solutions for our people.” It’s all hot air about how the proposal is too fuzzy and lacks any real protections for Palestinian demands.

Mardawi made it crystal clear: Hamas will only bite on a deal that safeguards what they call their sovereignty. And he didn’t shy away from justifying violence, calling armed resistance a “legitimate” tool for their so-called liberation.

But peel back the layers of this bluster, and you uncover the ugly reality of Hamas’ operations. Back in September 2024, Israel Hayom dropped a bombshell based on secret files snatched by the Israeli Defense Forces—straight from the computer of Yahya Sinwar, Hamas’ Gaza boss.

These papers, first leaked by Germany’s Bild and penned in early 2024, lay bare Hamas’ cold-blooded tactics. Strikingly absent? Any concern for the deaths of Palestinian civilians caught in the crossfire. It’s all about their own survival and scheming.

Instead, the strategy boils down to wearing down Israel’s military and political might through drawn-out talks, all while quietly rebuilding their shattered forces. Peace? That’s just a smokescreen for buying time.

The documents spell out ways to crank up the mental torment on Israeli hostage families, even during supposed lulls in fighting. Those gut-wrenching videos of captives begging for release? Straight out of this Hamas manual, designed to break spirits and sway opinions.

Hamas even plotted to game ceasefires by granting the Red Cross spotty access to hostages—not out of kindness, but to toy with emotions and drag out pauses in combat, no matter if deals were honored or not. And get this: they wanted Arab troops as a front-line shield, giving them cover to sneak in weapons for the next round.

At the end of the day, Hamas’ tricks reveal a group that couldn’t care less about the pain in Gaza. They treat hostages like poker chips, twist media narratives, and use every truce as a chance to reload. Trump’s plan offers a real path out, but Hamas seems h*ll-bent on keeping the fire raging.
